Fight and you may die. Run and you'll live, at least a while. But dying in your beds many years from now, would you take all the days from this day to that for once chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take...our FREEDOM! J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!
To quote Themistocles: "I'd rather die on my feet, than live on my knees..." Just show up tonite and let them know you're on the field too JETS! Have some pride in yourselves tonite!!
I've been reflecting on this. When the Jets are doing well they always manage to seem to stumble and blow it against seemingly gimme situations. So why can't for once... .for once the roles be reversed and the Jets pick off a Thursday night game against the Ravens like often happens to us over the years. Good time for Lamar to just randomly fumble 3 times or something. Their bump in the road can happen against us today.
LOL this game was actually closer than I thought for about 28 minutes and yet still they got predictably wasted Rutgers-style.
Do we ever do well in primetime games? I mean ever? It's just one shitshow after another. The buttfumble, the ghost game, 45-3 against the Pats, tonight, the first Bills loss to Rex in 2015, the infamous Tim Brown-Vance Joseph game way back when, etc. Detroit in the opener last year, that's pretty much it what I can remember for GOOD primetime performances and it's Detroit lol
There were a number of good primetime wins under Rex. We had a good win against Dallas with Revis intercepting Romo along the sideline to seal it. I also remember him outmuscling Brandon Marshall for a 95 yard INT return in a win vs Miami. In another win over Miami we defended a 2 point attempt to seal the win on the final play.
We suck in primetime. Yes. Point taken. BUT... 1. Jumbo Elliot, Monday Night Miracle. 10/23/00 2. "Geno Smith and the Jets come into Atlanta and SHOCK the Falcons." -- I clearly remember this Jon Gruden quote as the last seconds ticked away. 10/7/13 3. Sam's first NFL game. 9/10/18
Sadly I thought last night was our best played game of the year. It was the first time we played sort of competitive against a non terrible team all year besides the Buffalo game. The first half we played well but missed on opportunities. All in all I cannot be unhappy last night. Sam did not get hurt played a better game than he did vs. The dolphins and we played much better and more competitively than I would ever have expected.
...and with “nobody” playing. we got our asses kicked, but I think the expectation was it was going to be worse than it was. We hung in there for a good minute. We just didn’t have the talent to pull it off. Can’t really be mad.
I hate to point this out but did anyone else notice the Ravens defense went into auto pilot when it was 14-0? How suddenly our o-line was getting a push and their zones were softer? From the second quarter on they treated it like a practice game and still won by 21 points.
My favorite highlight was beating Denver on Monday Night, sacking John Elway for a safety, and him sitting on the sidelines looking afraid of our pass rush.
