Good looking drive from Darnold and the O line there. Not surprised we look better with Sam back, but he's actually getting time to throw, and the run game is getting blocks. Good stuff.
This offense with Darnold just looks worlds smoother. It’s night and day with him in there instead of a scrub like Luke Falk.
Gase is not just the coach of the QBs, but of the entire team. He should be evaluated on every aspect of the team's play, and he's been woefully inadequate so far this season in getting this team ready. If we're just judging him on Darnold's play, then demote him to QB coach and let someone else run the team.
After a 50 year wait, any gloating inside the first quarter of a game is too EARLY is it that hard for you, I also never said we didn't look different with Darnold in, I mean rocket science and all of that.
Other teams seem able to function without their starter in the game. It hasn't hurt Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, or Indianapolis to anywhere near the degree it has the Jets. Gase had his handpicked backups in there and both of them played miserably and the rest of the offense looked abysmal in Darnold's absence. A good coach adjusts and plays to whatever strengths he has, not just tread water and wait for the starter to return.
