He doesn't have the opportunity to rush the passer though. It's actually strange how they transformed him into an off the ball linebacker when he came out as an edge prospect. It's even more strange as to how well he's played that role. Watch today though. He plays the Derrick Brooks role on that defense as the WILL. He's rarely going after the quarterback.

yeah I remember when we were gonna sign him people were mentioning they didn't use him much as a rusher and we would....seems like a odd way to use him.
It's weird. He had 23.5 sacks in two years in college. Both double digits years. It's even weirder as to how well he's adjusted to it. He and Kendricks play like Kuechly and Thomas Davis. They're both dynamic. Glad to see Kendricks get an All-Pro nod this year.
Seems like a lot of feeling out going on. I think we'll see some more points in the next three quarters. Cousins just simply struggles in the pocket on any sort of passing concepts that aren't WCO slants/flats/outs. He also panics rather quickly. The Saints are taking his backside bootleg game which is his strength.
Due to Barr and Kirk I am rooting hard for Saints. But they don't look good on offense so far. I am concerned.
Their running game has missed Ingram a lot all year. As dynamic as Kamara is, he's not a great inside runner for the duration of a full game. They need to figure out a way to block the defensive ends as they move them in against the guards. Might need to bring Zach Line or a tight end in.

Brees playing really poorly - even that long pass to Thomas to get into FG range was a poor one. And of course they missed it anyway. Cousins looks like nothing special, yet he is seriously outplaying Brees. Who had that?
How come? Vikings have a very good D and play possession control type offense. I think this is a really good game and may go to the wire. Two good teams.
