2019 NFL Draft

Discussion in 'Draft' started by boozer32, May 21, 2018.

  1. Believe it or not im actually gonna disagree about Guard free agents & here’s why. Guards are a much harder evaluation than Tackles within the draft process bc everything is in the phone booth. Its much harder to simulate that type of quickness theyll see on the interior on the pro level.Tackles will usually see at least one legit pass rusher & we can guestimate a bit based on how they look on the edge as well as in space. There are fewer high level guards in the NFL than Tackles & that makes them a commodity. Alan Faneca was highly paid to come here & that worked out great. He & Woody absolutely made that group arguably the best starting 5 of that decade. Id like to see a similar haul come March 19

Definitely some great prospects but I think Bosa from Ohio St. is the gem of this draft.

Who are we taking with the 1st over all pick? Bosa or a Left Tackle?

If Bosa is available and it looks like his injury won't be a recurring problem, you go Bosa easy. It would change the dynamic of the defense.

Bosa and Ed Oliver seem basically locked into going 1/2 overall in this draft at the moment. Multiple scouts basically saying it's them, then a noticeable drop to the next tier of players.

Giants have been actively scouting Herbert. Reports are they’ve been to more of his games than any other player.

    Need to start scouting him.

Giants better hope he comes out this year, very slim pickings at QB without him.

There’s some talk that he’ll stay because his brother is a highly recruited TE and will probably get playing time next year. He’d be stupid to stay though with this QB class looking really bad and the next looking really good.

I disagree. Bosa would be a great add and edge rusher is a definite need, but there could be several elite edge rushers in FA, and that is where we should get our edge rusher next year. We have to get our future LT to protect Darnold. Using our #1 pick on an edge rusher and having Beacham or some other JAG defending his blind side would be insane imo.

I don't know if we would be after another TE this year, but Drew Sample(UW) has been impressing me recently.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Herndon gives us a solid enough TE to not make the position a glaring hole on the roster. Our biggest needs are OL and pass rush IMO.
