I wouldn't get your hopes up. The only real option to make that happen would be to attach the high 3rd (pick 68) with a 3rd rounder next year to move into the second round and that's pretty steep considering its a high 3rd anyway. Otherwise, the Jets have no assets. Only 6 picks this year. You have to have something to offer in return. If Sharon Lee gets traded though, I suppose that's a different story. Lee and a 3rd to move into the 2nd? Idk... just an idea
If we trade a pick next year to move up this year. It will probably be for our future Lt or #1 WR, as there still graded round 1 WR and LT left right now. That fell out of first.
The value of the picks was way lower than normal yesterday. I’d certainly explore trying to get into 2nd rd somehow. I think we’re gonna see an early run on WRs and Dbs which could potentially drop some of the OL.
Eh.. I think I'm against doing this. Feels like every year we only have like 5 picks. I don't think this is the year to selli the future for now
Let’s say we attach next year’s 2 to one of this year’s 3 and take jawaan Taylor. Use the other 3 on a center. Now entering 2020 we have our left tackle left guard center and right tackle . The future becomes right now and we are as prime as we will ever be to make a run before we have to pay Sam.
I like the idea of using Lee and maybe a 2020 pick to move up to the low 2nd round. Whatever they do they need to come up with starting caliber players at Edge, LT/C, CB, WR. If they can't get a 2nd rounder somehow and are left with the 2 thirds, I'd probably look to grab a C first sine they're scarcer than the Edge or CBs, then Edge, CB, WR.
I would rather not trade future picks but I am game in trading any current picks this year and Lee or someone else expendable.
Because we will have 4 position on the line secured for the next 3 years before sam is due and in the meantime re upping LW and Jamal is going to cut into what we can get in free agency. The year to go all in is 2020. Waiting to get a tackle in that draft is not conducive to that. Super bowl teams usually don’t want to feature a rookie left tackle
See he is a round 4 grade. Saw something else round three. Either way he is listed as a guard center. Not McCoy or Jenkins but in round 3 or 4 seems like a good option for a position of need. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/michael-jordan?id=32194a4f-5214-6382-8d60-9ad32b12a1f6
