I agree. They thought they could be like the Texans and generate pass rush from the DL and get internal pressure on Brady. They have failed miserably. Hopefully, they got it right this time. If not, then Mac, G. Williams and anyone else involved in that decision need to go.
Not sure, no real news on that ... but his durability is in question. He was advised to sit out during the combine as well.
Hopefully, he has already talked with them and has a deal worked out if they don't get an edge rusher in the draft. At this point, I think they should just forget about edge rusher, unless they like Jaylon Ferguson and he's there at 3b. I don't really like Polite. Neither Erik McCoy nor Elgton Jenkins is likely to be there in the 3rd round. If they like Connor McGovern or Lamont Gaillard, maybe take one of them, but I'm thinking they probably should just go CB and WR, OG and TE with their two 3rd round picks and their 4th round pick unless there is a C there they like.
there's some good lineman, receivers and corners that are falling right now. Not one corner taken yet, and the first receiver was taken. Some good tackles and centers available.
Doubt there's a deal in place but it's likely there were discussions earlier. As far as the draft, Don't think you can really limit the positions going forward. Gotta see how the board falls. Pick Should be dependent on the players available once on the clock . Maybe Mac manages a trade up to get into the second.
This was the worst draft I've ever seen, they barely talked about football. What a joke. ABC #neveragain.
We can't afford to trade up. Mac should have signed a C in FA. It's not necessarily limiting the positions as absolutes, it's just that other than a few exceptions, I think that those 3 positions are where we will have opportunities to get the best players that will match talent and need. Other than Ferguson, I don't really like any of the other edge rushers. If Greg Little or Yodney Cajuste is there, I wouldn't pass them up. I'd take one of them. If Darrell Henderson is there at 3b I'd probably take him. We certainly have no need on the DL or QB. I don't think there will be anyone at OLB or S that would be any better than players that could be available at those 3 postions. Most of the CBs are still there. Only one RB has been taken so far. Only one OG has been taken. Only two TEs have been taken. There are a number of good WR prospects.
welp, hell has frozen over, Francesa has turned on the Giants https://www.nj.com/giants/2019/04/wfans-mike-francesa-giants-absolutely-screwed-eli-manning-with-daniel-jones-pick.html WFAN’s Mike Francesa: Giants ‘are a joke’ and ‘absolutely screwed’ Eli Manning with Daniel Jones pick The WFAN host blasted the Giants’ decision to select Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth-overall pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft, declaring that general manager Dave Gettleman “talked out of both sides of his face” by claiming the Giants could retool and win at the same time with Manning and then using the team’s top pick to take a player who presumably will not help them in 2019, the last year of Manning’s contract. “The Giants have absolutely screwed Eli Manning. Absolutely screwed him,” Francesa said on his “Mike’s On” app. He then suggested he believes Manning knew the Giants were going to go this route in a somewhat conspiratorial tone. “And I can tell you right now, I think Eli Manning knew this was coming. I can’t tell you yet why I knew that, but I do think he knew this was coming,” Francesa added. Francesa said he thought the Giants might take a quarterback later in the draft or trade for the Cardinals’ Josh Rosen, but “I’m absolutely stunned with what the Giants did. I never thought the Giants would take him at No. 6. ... It shows me that you had no plan."
