Cashman’s draft stock really took off after exploding at the NFL Combine. Cashman performed better than most all of the other linebackers in attendance and showed that he did have several of the measurables that NFL teams are looking for. Cashman should step in immediately and be a special teams stud, and with some practice could step into at least a situational playing spot on the defense.

    Positives:

    • Smooth rangy athlete
    • Excellent range and is a sideline to sideline linebacker
    • Consistent wrap up tackler
    • Non-stop motor with a nose for the ball
    • Smooth in coverage
    • Reads and reacts quickly
    • Proven to be an efficient blitzer
    • Linebacker who excels in space
    Weaknesses:
    • Not the biggest or strongest linebacker
    • Needs defensive line to keep him clean
    • Block shedding isn’t a strength
    • Short arms/small hands
    • Not a powerful tackler

First pick I can't agree with and don't like.

    C.J Mosley (IMLB).
    Avery Williamson (IMLB).
    Darron Lee (IMLB).

Wasted pick here I highly doubt he'll even see 50-100 snaps as a rookie. Too much talent ahead of him.

Seems like a special teamer. That's you make your money in the 5th round. True football fans know that.

Darnold is just going to hold the ball out in his right hand and do the snap count like in backyard football. Jets will play the 2019 season without a center

Remember when Mangold retired and Macsuckan thought Wesley Johnson was the answer? Looks like we're on repeat.

You're not looking for starters in the 5th round.

No. The good GM's do that in the 7th or UDFA.

Have any of you gone back to your old posts from past drafts to see all the players you were mad the Jets passed on? I did last night and 99% of those guys are either out of the league or special teams players. I was embarrassed for myself.

You need to be looking for starters in every round.

He's a guy who can contribute on special teams with the hope of developing into a starter. That's what the 5th round and beyond is about.

How many starters were there from the 5th round last year? One? Learn football.

That's not how the draft works in later rounds. Players today aren't being drafted with the idea they'll be immediate starters. That's what the first round is for. Now is the time for looking for contribution players that you can develop.

I'm sorry if you cant understand that.

I wouldn't know about that, it doesn't mention ground strokes
