Loved Johnny Hector! He was one of my favorite Jets in the '80s and early '90s. He was a pretty darned consistent back paired with Freeman McNeill. He had a 4.1 ypc average for his career. In '91, his next-to-last season, he had a 5.6 ypc average, the highest of his career. He didn't have many long runs to bump his average up, either. He never fumbled the ball in 1,051 career carries (either that or nfl.com's stats are wrong) for 4,280 yards and scored 41 TDs. From '84 through '89 he averaged double-digit catches per season, which I think was pretty darned good for that time period, especially as a backup RB, when Freeman McNeil also had double-digit receptions from '81 through the '92 season with the exception of '91. Freeman had only one fumble in 1,798 career carries.
