First regulation loss in 9 games so not a bad run. Just rebound Thursday at NJ which they should do as the Devils suck especially without Hall. I will say the one team I don't want the Isles to face in the playoffs is the B's The Isles don't seem to match up well with them. The Bergeron line can shut down the Barzal line and the Isles don't have enough offense elsewhere. Throw in the fact that Rask is a good goalie which makes it difficult for the Isles to score in the games. First time against Boston was a 2-1 shootout loss and now 3-1. Two games against them and only two goals scored.

There are a lot of guys and positions I would like to address at or before the trade deadline but the thing that is glaring and that is an absolute NEED on this team is s spring on the power play = we need scoring

The top line as a whole has been nonexistent to be honest. They need a good scoring 2nd line winger to force opposition to loosen up their top line so Isles top line can get some breaks.

They have accomplished a lot so far, other teams are not going to take them lightly anymore so all of their games are going to be even tougher.

It’s playoff hockey for the rest of the season.

Devils team is more of a checking line team for this game, they are beating up on the smaller guys like Beauvillier, Eberle, and Bailey, who by the way has disappeared like Jimmy Hoffa.

They are playing down to this scrubby Devils team, and it bothers me to no end to see them get pushed around.

my sentiments exactly they are taking a beating this game. It just kills me that they cannot score GOD Lou get us some offense and this team will make noise come playoff time. BUT IMO these grinding games every nite are painful to watch and THEY HAVE TO play this way because they cannot score!!!!!

I decided to listen to the game instead of watching it on my drive home because I couldn’t stand to watch the third period.

Panarin is only worth the risk as a rental if it doesn’t cost us any prospects beyond Ho-Sang.

If I were Isles management, I would look somewhere else for offensive help and look at Panarin in the off-season as a FA signing.

This is the JT situation but with Isles in a good spot to sign Panarin.

Let the off-season market establish his value.

No need to get desperate and come out of this losing another FA and young players.

The Jackets want a 1st round draft pick and 2 young high valued prospects.

I absolutely agree. Not to mention I doubt they trade to the team ahead of them in the division unless they absolutely rob us blind.

Tarasenko would be a no-brainer at that cost. Stone, Duchesne, Panarin — see you next year.

I don’t even think we need an elite player to make a push this year. Tyler Toffoli is having an off year and can be had at a good deal; he’s been on the trade talks on the Kings end for a while.

Tarasenko would be an amazing get, but first, i'm pretty sure he isn't even available(don't care what the rumors say) and second i'm pretty sure he would cost way more than that package, especially considering he's signed for another four seasons at very reasonable cap hit of $7.5mill.
What seems to be forgotten is that he's recovering from major shoulder surgery and he finally seems to be getting back to his normal self after a rough first half. Does anyone remember how awful Kyle Okposo looked when he came back from shoulder surgery?

No doubt that’s a pipe dream on my account.

I agree, it would be foolish for the blues to trade him so he’s likely not available, absent of a Hershel Walker deal.
