Garth snow finally realized he needed some defensemen, I loved the trades.

As long as Okposo stays on the top line with Tavares, he will be a productive winger.

Hard to not like thec trades,,,,,now if the goaltending can play as I expect and with a pretty good defense we shall see if these guys can put the puck in the net and score some goals

Anyone catch what Howie Rose said about the Isles? He nailed it.

Howie is the best and a legend

    http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/10...-off-on-islanders-impending-move-to-brooklyn/

“A lot of it depends on where you live. The further east you live the less likely you are to make the trek,” Rose said. “But I’m telling you, Brooklyn is not even a blip on my radar[IMG] this year. You know what Brooklyn and Portugal have in common? Neither one of them are Long Island. That’s where the Islanders play and that’s where they belong. I will always feel that way, but at least for this year all I’m going to do is embrace … I know it’s a rundown building. We’re having the same conversation we had about Shea at the end, ‘it’s a dump, it’s our dump,’ all that, but I don’t even want to think about next year. I’m not the least bit interested in next year and what’s going to happen because it’s all about a club that has a chance to do some pretty good things this season.

Ok, it's a fair statement, but the island has treated this team like a heaping pile of garbage for a long time now, I would like to see them go to Brooklyn, start fresh.

The past while great is exactly that the past, no matter who the owner is, if they stay on the island they will be treated the same by the officials who are in power.

Its just economics at this point, the island can't sustain the team, I feel Brooklyn can.

IMO Kate Murray is the main reason why they are being forced to leave. She blocks everything in ToH.

I am still really bitter over it even though I am hardly on LI any more.

I have a man crush on Brock Nelson, my wife and I saw him the last couple of years with the Bridgeport sound tigers before he was called up and he looked like he belonged in the NHL, if the islanders can get a center for their second line to set him up, he will score 40 plus goals.

I'll tell you the guy they need to move on from, Bailey, he has had enough time to develop his game and he is not even a 4th line player.

His defense is bad, and his offense is non existent.

love starting off 1-0. Hopefully 2-0 after tomorrow night, and then they beat the fucking shit out of the Rag$.

I hate the Rag$ more than any other sports team on earth. More than Iowa, more than New England, and more than the Phillies.

Lmao. Islanders have some legit talent and will make the playoffs if Halak gives them consistent goaltending IMO.

Visnovsky could be a sneaky good signing as well if he gets healthy. I'm not a fan of Garth Snows work but he has put together a solid club for 2014 I think.

What they need now is a legit head coach, JC does ok with young players but they need someone who has proven himself a winner in the NHL.

No I don't want Tortorella, but I think JC is in over his head at this level.

Snow hasn't been completely horrendous he has just made some extremely horrid decisions that are so baffling they completely overshadow the rest of what he has done.

Milbury is the one who really messed the Isles up big time. He, IMO is why there have been so bad in the last decade. He decimated the team.

I think that the next 2 seasons will tell us how well Garth Snow has done for the Isles. They will be very telling IMO.
