Tampa Bay unhappy after the bad call, so of course they do the roughing bullshit immediately afterwards.

Good let them get off their game and take stupid penalties.

Obvious BS makeup call against the Isles.

Decent first period. Good start, got disrupted by penalties, tied on PP.

That was an awesome 1st period. Multiple power plays, multiple fights, high intensity; TBL/NYI is becoming a true Eastern Conference Rivalry. The type of Rivalry I loved to see as a kid during the early-mid 1900's between NYR/NJD (they HATED each other).

Despite the injury that’s a successful period for the Saints to withstand that Tampa aggression and come out tied.

Win or lose tonight the Isles have shown they belong. This will be a long series. Come on Saints beat the Bucs.

If Islanders win tonight? It won't be a long series while stealing home ice up 2-0.

But if Lightning win tonight? Series could easily go 7.

Feeling like this is a MUST WIN for Islanders in order to suffocate these Lightning kids.

Tampa Bay takes the lead on a clear too many men on the ice situation.

It was a terrible job of backchecking, but still ...

Damn I went to pick up a pizza and came home to 2-1. How clear of a too many men on the ice was it? I'm trying to find a screen shot online but to no luck so far. The refs didn't at least review the goal?

More terrible backchecking. Islanders are playing very poorly right now.

I do agree though. Win or lose these Islanders have already proven they belong. Did what they had to do; stole home ice.

Side note: I already can't wait to see Zach Wilson on the island come game 3!

It was very clear - they showed a picture on TV.

Goals can't be reviewed for that reason, but Trotz knew it immediately and was screaming about it.

I never paid attention and realized that about hockey. It's 2021. You'd think with technology they would literally review all scoring goals (like NFL TDs).

More poor play by the Islanders - they're giving the puck away, and not skating hard.

No surprise to lose game 2 but more than enough reasons to believe we can win both at home.
