1-0 shutout for Varly on a Nelson goal, and the Isles and Caps are once again tied at the top of the division.
Isles make a big trade with Devils. Isles get Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajak for two prospects in Robost and Greet a first Rd pick in 2021 and a 4th in 2022. NJ retains some salary. Isles are all in and going for it this year
Palmieri is a Long Island boy (Smithtown), and I could see them trying to sign him before the season is over. The first round pick obviously won't be a very high one. If this only works out as well as it did when they traded for Butchie I would be okay with it.
Yeah, great move by the Islanders. I think they are just as good or better than anyone in the East right now. Looks like a 4 team race with the Isles, Caps, Pens and Bruins, but the Rangers are on fire too. Great division.
I’m breathing a sigh of relief, they have given the young kids a chance to perform and they just have not seized the opportunities and made a difference. Having Palmieri and Zajac is going to create huge matchup problems for other teams. Love the trade, great job by Lou to make it happen.
The division is tough but I think the matchups are set with the Isles, Caps, Pens, and B's. The Rangers are 5 back of the B's but Boston has two games in hand. If the Isles can get out of the East their is Tampa(most likely) to get by. Should be an exciting regular season finish and playoffs.
Yeah, it is an interesting format. I do like the Isles' chances of getting out of the East, but I think I am split between those 4 teams. I could see any getting through. None would shock me.
Walstrohm healthy scratch again, yet Bailey is still in the lineup with 2 goals. Trotz overthinking the development of Walstrohm.
