Our defenseman got abused,,especially in front of halak ,,,,,,hopefully we win Sunday this was a bad loss we were dominated make no mistake but were up 3 to 1 and could have stolen this game ,,,,

Series is back on. Great effort by the Caps last night in front of Grubauer. He hung in there, but was not that great. Hopefully Holtby can go on Sunday. I can definitely see how that was a frustrating game for Isles fans, as Game 1 was for Caps fans. Especially being up 3-1. Game 3 should be fun.

There should be no reason for the defense to look so bad, this is what I hate about our HC, he did the same thing as the coach of the sound tigers. The defense was never a punishing defense, and he translated that style to the islanders.

Backstrom should have never been allowed to skate between the circles and shoot on goalie without getting rocked.

De Haan is built like Larry Robinson and hits like Cinderella, we need a HC who is going to make these players into NHL players and capuano is not the guy.

Their defense punishes no one, it's like euro hockey players on defense.

The Caps got physical with the islanders and the islanders never responded, instead they withered under the pressure.

Maybe they should show the islanders videos of Darius Kaspiritis on defense so they can learn that just because their are small does not mean they can't punish the opposition.

Best of 5 now,,,,,let's see what happens today,,,I expect our coach to make a change or 3 in personnel as far as scratches and in moves as far as defense pairings,,,,,,despite the other nite I am pumped for this game,,,,,,might actually head to the colosseum a bunch of friends are tailgating in a half hour but not sure it's doable for me on such short notice ,also no tickets in hand,,,,,,,yet,,,,,,,,,let's win this game today and be more physical with the caps,,that's a must !

Not sure if you got a chance to see the bolts and wings, but the bolts took their physical play to another level and matched the wings punch for punch, Datsuik, zetterberg, we're getting hit like if they were pinatas and the score reflected the beating the bolts put on them.

I'm not advocating injuring anyone either, play clean, but It's playoff hockey, play the game like it's supposed to be played, if not, go put on you figure skates and your tights and skate around by yourself in front of some judges.

I'm gonna miss the NVMC. So much better than the overrated and overpriced MSG. The crowd actually gets loud there too. Probably because real fans can afford to go there unlike MSG which is only for rich people.

I love Kulemin, he initiates contact and is not afraid to put the puck on net, he started that chain of events that led to 91 finishing it off.

Think about this,,,if they had played with half the effort in game 2 or just thrown a few more pucks on net at that kid they could easily be up 3 nothing,,,,,,,2 games to 1 its on to game 4

It's true. At the same time, if the Caps score in OT they are up 2-1 too. That is why the NHL playoffs are so fun. The Capitals have played 2 good periods out of 9. Just pathetic. I am not sure what the issue is, but they are not themselves. As for the Isles, they are good, but have a hard time playing for 60 minutes for some reason. They have random mental breakdowns. Besides that, they are looking good .

. II'm laughing at that Caps fan who got an earful at the game on Sunday. What did he expect? Your going to a game in the cheap seats wearing the opposing teams gear. And I have a feeling he egged them on too since he posted on Twitter "can't these assholes move to Brooklyn already". Yeah it wasn't PC what he heard, but that's the cheap seats for ya I've been up there for playoff games against Pitt and it was just as rowdy. And let's not pretend this is the only place where fans get taunted. I'm sure if you go into the Wells Fargo Center dressed head to toe in Crosby gear you will get an earful from the Flyers fans. Same with a Boston fan in Montreal. If your wearing the opposing teams colors to a game you best be prepared, and if you are going to the cheap seats in the rafters, you are asking for it.

I have been to Jets games where Jets fans yell at each other. So yeah, no shock a Caps fan getting some heat at an Isles game. Haha.

I saw an article on PuckDaddy where the author was acting like this is the first time people were being called fags at sporting events. Pretty sure if a Red Sox fan sits down in the bleachers at Yankee Stadium he will be called even worse things and have beer thrown at him if he answers back. Its all part of the game. If your a visitor, dont sit in the chap seats, and dont bitch about it on your blog either because that makes you look like a pussy.

Right and honestly the hate you get is fun for me. It makes you feel like you are part of the team, even though you are not. Living where I live and cheering for the teams I cheer for, I am at road games almost as much as home games, so I am used to that being part of the deal. I have never felt threatened or verbally attacked, but you get the occasional line every couple minutes. Especially if you are decked out in your team's gear. Worst I get is the random drunk guy who won't shut up, but that is about it. I would never instigate anything which it sounds like that guy might have done.
