I would guess Greiss but nothing confirmed yet. Anyway LGI!!!

 

Real bad start, with Greiss replaced less than 11 minutes into the game.

 

As bad as that period was, we’re still in it. Just one at a time.

 

In retrospect starting the better goalie which is Varlomov was probably the better move....we weren't holding the bolts to 16 shots a game.

 

What a mess this game is.

I am not surprised the Isles got their asses kicked. TB was a rested hockey team. The Isles just played a grueling 7 game series against the Flyers with 3 games going to OT. They probably used a lot of energy in holding the Flyers to 16 shots in their game 7 win. Coming off an emotional win and fatigue (most likely) made last night a tough spot for the Isles to be in. Hoping for a better result in game 2. At the very least I expect it to be competitive. TB is a really good team and they probably will win the series. The Isles can pull off the upset but they need to be at their very best every game otherwise forget it.

 

Same here. If this was an accurate reflection of the disparity between the two teams I’d be concerned but there is no reason to believe it is.

had won 8-1 I wouldn’t think the series is in the bag, so losing it 8-1 doesn’t make me feel it’s over for us either.

 

Hopefully they can bring their "A" game tonight. At the very least please don't give up a touchdown and a two point conversion. They need to find a way tonight otherwise they will have to win 4 of 5 from TB to win the series. I doubt that happens. LGI!!!!

Lazy icing and bad positioning by Varlamov leads to a 1-1 tie in a period that the Isles dominate.

 

Gotta get some goals otherwise the improved play is just a moral victory.

 

Isles need to win this game with TB down to 9 forwards.
They do and I like there chances to take it to game 7.

They lose this one, they may go down in 4.
