If all it takes is Ladd I’m all in. We can deal with the last few years of his agreement when it comes.

The trade deadline has passed. Ladd is still on the roster, Parise remained in Minnesota...

Great move by the Isles picking up and extending Pageau. He is a solid player and fits Trotz' system well. You guys talk all the time about Lou not doing anything, but I would say this was one of the best deadline moves this season. Paid a lot, but since he was extended, I don't see a problem. Now we gear up for the final playoff push and what should be a truly exciting 2020 playoffs.

Disappointing. I think we’d have gotten at least $3 mil in value from Parise which is what we’d be paying him on top of the $5 mil we are already getting nothing out of for Ladd.

Lost to the Rangers in OT 4-3 but considering the Isles were down 3-1 late 3rd I am glad they came back and got a point.

What a game, sucks we only gained one point on the Isles but at least the Canes lost and the Jackets are down 4-1

another OT loss.... I hope I am wrong but it looks like Trotz's system looks less and less effective. The Blues totally dominated them for the most part of the game. It's kinda like Rex Ryan and the Jets back in the day....

The difference this year from last is we are extremely sloppy and lackadaisical with the puck in the defensive zone. How many times have we just swung our stick at a puck and given it away to a score.

Blues are just a better team, Josh Bailey, Eberle, Beauvillier and possibly Anders Lee would be either 3rd or 4th line players or not make the blues lineup.

I don’t think our fans realize how bad our forwards are. They are not physical, they can’t score 30 goals, they don’t fight, they don’t play with an edge. Barzal is the only top line forward that belongs in the NHL.

Wish they could have held on for the win but honestly the way they were dominated in the final 40 they were lucky to get a point. Gained ground on CBJ, CAR, FLA lost ground to NYR. One of those teams can pass the Isles but not two to keep a playoff spot.

There is a report that the isles offered multiple players and picks for Miko Koivu but he refused to waive his NTC.

Guys I’m telling you, players don’t want to play for Islanders, Lou has a big hill to climb.

Did anyone else also try to trade for him and he refused to waive the NTC? Getting traded mid-season isn’t necessarily a desirable situation for a player. We may think it is because it improves his chance of winning, but does he have a family with him in Minneapolis? Getting traded would mean either uprooting his family mid-season or moving away from them for the remainder of it. You negotiate a no trade clause for the very purpose of avoiding that happening, moreso than simply not wanting to play for the Isles.

The report did not mention other teams interest in him, just what the Islanders offered.

Most guys that get traded don’t uproot the family though. They allow the family to keep their stability while husband plays away games.

Yzerman did it when he was GM with Tampa, eventually he went back home though.

I wonder if he would have said no if it was the Penguins though. Just a thought.
