Got a little nervous at the end but still won 5-4. 13 game streak without a regulation loss. Attendance was listed at 13,200 a few hundred short of a sellout. Ledecky and Malkin are going to have to market this team focusing on Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk to build up the fanbase. The Isles have a very passionate fanbase but it is small. Usually attendance for Isles games improves around Thanksgiving and for the rest of the year. Should see decent crowds the rest of the season.
Petro I don't know if they played a bad 1st or that Elliot just stood on his head as we had chances and I think we hit iron twice in the 1st and 4 times throughout the game. Really good comeback and win !!!!
Very interesting comeback; it wasn’t a situation where they simply played better and took over the game. The pucks just found the back of the net.
You know what it was like to have AV behind the bench as a Ranger fan, Philadelphia is experiencing the same thing with him. If Philadelphia had Trotz they would be dangerous because they have skilled offensive players that can play a two way game. Islanders still need an offensive playmaker that can help carry the team, if they can get that type of player they will go past second round. As currently built they can only get past first round.
Matt I totally agree and I am enjoying the ride right now except the Islanders might not even get past the 1st round as you and I know it is a totally different game come playoff time. It helps that The Islanders power play looks better moving the puck but they still have no finishers and if Islanders fans expect Beau to score 2 goals every game well like I said we might not get past the 1st round .
Home and home with Pitt starting Tuesday night. I wish the Isles didn't blow that 3-0 3rd P lead against them otherwise we would be on a 14 game winning streak. We owe these guys so hopefully we can get 4 points in these two games and keep this point streak rolling.
Hard to believe that Bailey played his 815th game for the team on Saturday, passing Bob Bourne for fifth overall in team history (trailing only Trottier, Potvin, Nystrom, and Gillies). Cizikas will play his 500th game tomorrow, Nelson will play his 500th on Thursday, Martin has played 512, and Lee is on track to play his 500th later this season. It's like the old days of 1970s and 1980s, except, you know, for the Stanley Cups.
