Announcing crew wondering why the Jets aren't using their timeouts???? That's a sarcastic joke, right?
I can see the post-game now "have to execute better; not worried about my job, I'm not thinking about that; all have to do better the coaches the players; they just executed better than we did" - rinse and repeat
Despite all the odds against it, the Pats played down to the Jets level and STILL the Jets couldn't do it. This is pathetic!
only positive is you can see the issues don't start or stop with Darnold's struggles - too soon to hit the panic button (yet)
You know I completely agree. It might make things worse for now, but in the long run it would set an expectation level.
This Patriot team is not very good. They could absolutely still win it all due to coaching & competence but they are more vulnerable than usual. The jets lack everything right now in a coaching staff & front office. The players lack of confidence in the organization is painfully obvious.
All over the league you see receivers winning one on one fights for the football on long throws. The only receiver on this team who does that is Q ... and never on a deep throw. Everyone else can catch it if they're open ... but it seems like they never fight for, and make, a deep catch against coverage.
Announcers: "Jets need to take shots at the end zone...all these short passes are using up valuable time". They still don't get Bowles's strategy apparently.
"Hustle to the line to get the play off before the 2-minute warning"??? Fouts must have the Jets confused for a competently coached NFL team.
