I love this thread. Feel bad I can't come back everyday too. Be cool if we could find a living Jet the number of days left. Here is one I found. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Rutigliano
Namath to Walker? Unless you meant to this post in the Happy 75th Birthday Wheelchair Joe thread. Namath left the Jets at the end of the '76 season, Walker was drafted in '77. Signed, -nyjunc would've busted a cap in your ass Talk about great Namath photos, Joe Namath with Flip Wilson. RIP, Geraldine. I'm just gonna go with the Jets drafted a cripple and a half-blind guy. I just know there's a joke in there somewhere. A cripple walks into a bar . . . requires more thinking, but I'll get there.
Robby Anderson has some Wesley Walker in him. Walker wasn't a moron like Anderson and better overall but they both had/have the knack for big plays
The thing to the youngsters is, you just had to be there. As in physically be there. We had so many individual stellar players over the years, but, well . . . Jets . . . life . . . God hates us . . . God doesn't exist.
Powell joined the AFL's Titans in 1960, and was soon establishing his receiving credentials after a position change by Titans' head coach Sammy Baugh, scoring four touchdowns in his first contest. During the league's first three seasons, Powell teamed with Don Maynard to form the first wide receiver tandem ever to each gain over 1,000 receiving yards on receptions. In fact, the duo accomplished that feat in 1960, the first year of the AFL's existence. They repeated the feat in 1962. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PoweAr00.htm
I think that's a bit of a stretch, but Robby Anderson is a speedster, I'll give him that. I hope I don't have to hit anyone over the head with a tire iron to get that.
Remember that return to set up the game-winning drive against the Giants in the 1988 season finale? A great return that he almost took all the way.
Jim Otto, Holy Crap. I hate the Raiders with a passion, but that guy is so physically destroyed, it's very sad. He had to have one of his legs amputated. I think that was about 10 years ago. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
