I dont want the Jets to draft a QB this year, and I dont think Mac'll do it. He has an investment in the 2 QB's on roster and Petty looks like he can be a servicable starter. Next years QB class looks better so focus on developing the QB's on roster and building up the OL. If you draft Watson he's just going to get blown up like Petty was Saturday night. Mac selects BPA in the draft. He will have a busy free agency plugging holes. He may bypass DL this year but it could be anyone else. The Jets have alot of holes, OL being the biggest. Unfortunately there are no sure fire high pick OL prospects this year. Look for Mac to stockpile picks through trades and trading down. It wouldnt surprise me if he trades the first round pick for a lower first and a second.
If they pick a qb it won't be a high pick ....It will likely be a sleeper. They need to address the secondary early as that will help our passrush and oline of course.
Tyrod Taylor will be the crown jewel of the 2017 free agent class if he hits the open market. He's my #1 target. I know what I saw in Tennessee last season. If Tony Romo gets cut he's also a option for the Jets no doubt about it. Bortles has had a nightmarish season but he has ability. He reminded me a lot of Roethlisberger when the Jets faced the Jaguars last season.
