I loved J.Cotch. Kid was fearless and tough as nails over the middle. Broke out during his 3rd year. Quincy Enunwa reminds me so much of Jerricho Cotchery. So much so where i wish Enunwa wore #89. Kid is also tough as nails and fearless. A grinder at the WR position and just like Jerricho; just broke out during his 3rd year.
I don't even remember Robin Cole. Was he the only player to ever wear #90 with the Jets? Is there a website that lists all the Jets players at every number?
I've never heard of Robin Cole myself but Dennis Byrd wore #90 and is now retired because of him. Also LB Jay Brophy wore number 90 for one year in 1987 and RG Chris Godfrey wore number 90 for one year in 1980. Two players in which i know nothing about. I couldn't find any other #90 Jets outside of those 4 (Byrd, Cole, Brophy & Godfrey)
Guts, heart, extra effort, wedgebuster, made every tackle on special teams, fan favorite everybody at Shea chanted LLLooouuuu!
Wow! Thanks! Looking at the list who wore #98, I see Bobby Hamilton's (DE) name. It says that he only played for the Jets for one year (2006). I thought that had to be a mistake as I remember his being there longer. Then I saw him under #92 and it says 1996-1999. Both players were DEs and went to S. Mississippi. Is this the same player? It seems like it must be, but why the 10 year gap? I tried to google him, but all if can find the RB Bobby Humphrey of the Jets, and a Broncos player named Bobby Humphrey.
Still upset for the way Cotchery was shoved out. For Derrick Mason who was an enormous POS. Cotchery should have retired a Jet. Cotch was a Bradway pick right? 4th rounder. Credit where credit is due to Terry.
I remember one of his years with the Jets at the last home game rather than introducing the offense or defense coming out of the tunnel the Special Teams were introduced and Piccone got a thunderous ovation. The guy played every down as if it was the most important one of the season. Too little of that for way too many years.
Yes. My same thoughts exactly. By the time Derrick Mason became a Jet he was already 37 years old and washed up after 14 years in the league come 2011 (15th season). Mason was finished as a player and ended up recording only 13 catches for 115 yards and 0 TD's as a Jet. All while Cotchery went on to put up 166 receptions, 2,109 receiving yards and 16 TD receptions throughout 5 seasons with Pittsburgh & Carolina from 2011-2015 while playing in 72 of a possible 80 games. As NYJ fans we all got see the best of Jerricho Cotchery but it still bothered me to lose J-Cotch at the age of only 29 for a then 37 year old Derrick Mason. Made me sick. Just think about it. We went to back to back AFC Championship Games with Cotchery on our roster during 2009 and 2010. He goes out and puts up 14 receptions for 194 receiving yards during our 2009 postseason run & also records 12 catches for 146 yards and 2 TD receptions during 2010's playoffs. But then we just released and got rid of him before the 2011 season? For a 37 year old Derrick Mason? Still makes me sick.
Rale, I was at that game, he had a PR for a td against Tampa, 60 yards that year, the whole place was shaking
