I never liked him, even in college. He was a doofus and never learned. He was making the same mistakes his last year in the NFL that he was when he left college. Parcells, controlled that in '98, but I believed that at a critical moment, Vinny would revert to form, throw it up for grabs in double or triple coverage, and break all of our hearts.

I knew how skinny Maynard was, yet seeing those pictures afresh, really drives the point home. I had almost forgotten about those helmets with the single face bar as well. It's a wonder guys who wore those don't all have disfigured noses and no real teeth.
