Meanwhile the Raiders (the model of dysfunction just a few short years ago) have a league high 7 Pro Bowlers and an 11-3 record. Let this be a valuable message to Woody that anything is possible if you have the right FO and CS in place.
Leonard Williams and Sheldon Richardson named first and fifth alternates, respectively, for the AFC defensive line in the 2017 Pro Bowl.
Not really...Theres much better players then Williams this season. His agent will use it to get him overpaid then he will quit like Wilkerson.
Reggie Mackenzie's first 3 years were all 10+ loss seasons and then a 7-9. Not sure if a GM could survive that long here without results.
It's amazing what a couple good drafts at key positions can do for a franchise though. 2013 1 - DB DJ Hayden - starter 2 - OL Menelik Watson - starter/swing OL 6 - RB Latavius Murray - starter/1x pro bowler 6 - TE Mychal Rivera - #2 tightend 2014 1 - DE/OLB Khalil Mack - starter/All Pro 2 - QB David Carr - starter/pro bowler 3 - G Gabe Jackson - starter/future pro bowler 4 - DT Justin Ellis - depth DT 7 - DB TJ Carrie - starter 2015 1 - WR Amario Cooper - starter/pro bowler 2 - DT Mario Edwards - starter 3 - TE Clive Waldord - starter 2016 1 - S Karl Joseph - starter 2 - DE Jihad Ward - starter That's 12 starters in 4 drafts. Man I wish we could do something like this.
Maybe not but McKenzie also made a great hire in Del Rio and shrewd personnel moves that have put them on solid footing for years to come. Mac will need to follow that footprint if he wants a successful, long tenure here.
Definitely. And it's interesting to see how Del Rio has grown as a coach. He's a defensive guy at heart but he coaches the ENTIRE team. Everyone is held accountable and his fiery hard nosed coaching style has rubbed off on a position group in the offensive line that is nowhere near his expertise. If we fire Bowles we need someone well-rounded like this that knows how to coach FOOTBALL. Not defensive backs or defensive tackles like our past two head coaches. As much of a failure as Rex has been in Buffalo, he's a glorified defensive coordinator. But he also brings his hard nosed run the f'n football approach everywhere he goes. Coaching specialists at the head coaching spot are a giant waste of signings.
Yeah at least rexes teams have identities lol. When people hear about a Todd Bowles team they'll just think of a bunch of outta shape lazy bums who wanna know where da hoes at
