Your living in Fantasyland if you really believe we have virtually no unemployment.
I don't give a fuck what source you are going to claim about inflation, all I know is I and just about everyone I know has been living on a stagnant income while paying continually more for food, utilities, insurance and a host of other things. (My grocery bill is up about 15% in the last 2 years and I had a kid away at college).

It must be awesome living in your world. Apparently the consequences of the open border policies in France, Germany and Scandinavia flew right by you.
No unemployment? :) Sure, when a skilled worker gets canned and then finds a lower paying job elsewhere, they are technically still employed and the likes of you can brag about the low unemployment rate. Stocks at all time high? Sure, corporations make more $$$ than before partially because they are moving their businesses abroad where they have to pay lower salaries. I just came back from a business trip to Chicago, IL where 90% of people that I had to deal with were Indians and I'd say half of them were based in India. My employer just posted record revenues too. But hey as long as stocks are at an all time high...

And yet if Vince Foster was alive, he would vote for Trump.

Yup me too. I've worked with Indians, Malaysians, Chinese, Brazilians, even Dominicans haha, etc. All these big ass companies like IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, etc etc that buy our startup companies, then outsource them to the 3rd world, need to be taxed so fucking hard they will never want to outsource again.

They say they can't find talent around here. It's all a bunch of bullshit. They can't find talent around here for a salary of $20k is what it is. That's how they somehow make the H1B Visa work which is another load of shit they are feeding you.

I do not think Trump or Hillary will do a damn thing about it though.

My previous employer is slowly, but surely, phasing out their NYC based tech department. They are not firing anyone, as far as I know, but when someone leaves they don't hire a replacement. Instead, they hire people in the Argentina office. Are those people smarter? Definitely not! Cheaper? Absolutely yes!

Its the classic "hiring freeze". They buy a startup, then freeze US hiring, outsource the future hiring, and it's crazy crazy revenue gains. BTW, none of the big companies invent or develop anything anymore in this country. It's just not cost effective to do so when you can just buy a startup that is already making money and then just outsource. The suits look like geniuses because they're always posting gains but we see through all this bullshit lol.

you guys are talking about IT work. Jobs that require less social skills and can be done remotely. In a world of automation they will always outsource workers like that. I am not sure what this President or any President can do about that.

there is plenty of demand for the American worker you are just focusing on a specific industry/trade

I'm paying less at the pump, my food prices are down substantially the last two years. I have a 2.9% mortgage, my retirement accounts are up double digit the last 2 years. I haven't had an insurance increase in 5 years on car, fire or home. There building homes like mad, where I live.

Let me know the 5 minute period where America was so great, no unemployment, no war or poverty, racial harmony.

College tuition and health care are up. Supply and demand. Go figure not enough doctors or teachers. Must be the high underemployment. We are also insuring more people without adding any supply in health care. Again all as it should be.
Gee so the IT industry which is based on an open world wide web platform has global jobs and can move anywhere it wants. Sure sounds like Donald Trump can fix that one. How about those robotic welders down at the BMW factory in North Carolina. Those Germans should be banned from building a factory in the US that doesn't use good old fashioned american welders, you know the ones that are here legally.

I'm not bragging, I'm just telling you the facts. We had a huge crash a result of Government, business and individuals taking on debt at a monstrous level, including a Republican administration and congress. We have recovered better than any country on the planet. Wages have been stagnant but are up significantly this year. Food and energy prices dropped. College Tuition and health care cost are going up. Private sector growth has been solid. The fact is if you look at the employment report the only place where numbers are going down is government hiring and that's because we had a sequester which was broken by both parties for more defense spending.

This Dystopian view of the US being propagated by so called patriots is nothing but nativist xenophobia of the worst kind. I despise the war monger plutocrat that Hillary Clinton is but I would vote for her in a second against the pond scum that is Donald Trump and the absolute destruction of our economy and standing in the world that this crocked snake oil salesman is trying to sell. Even in my own Republican State of Arizona our two Republican Senators have walked away from him. He is an absolute disgrace and I believe anyone who votes for him either hates this country, is stupid or delusional. FYI, it is awesome being alive, healthy and living in the US. Opportunity and freedom is everywhere. Looking for someone to make America Great again is a slogan for the lazy.

Like I said, it must be awesome in your world. My food prices keep going up, as well as my health, car (no accidents or points) and homeowner insurance premiums. My real estate taxes go up 6-8% every year.

Your robotic welders example is like apples to oranges. Obviously, if there's anything that can be automated, it will be automated and no laws will stop that. I was talking about phasing out jobs in the States and creating identical jobs overseas with much cheaper labor costs.

What jobs are you actually talking about? Do you know there is something besides labor that goes into making an investment. Labor is one small factor. China bought more I-phones last year then the US did. They have something called customers. Totally separate from labor. GM would have gone down again if they weren't selling cars in Asia.

China has an upside down pyramid demographic. They have a very low birth rate and there population is aging quickly. They also have about 300 million middle class customers that didn't exist 20 years ago. There factories are being automated because they can't get labor.

We off shored manufacturing labor 20 year ago to get rid of inflation during a tech boom. Inflation went down and we had virtually full employment. You're talking about cheap labor in Asia is like me telling you that US IT departments forced my company to fire 50 people doing IBM punch cards in the late 70's. Guess what those people lost their jobs to you. My travel agent lost her job to me when the airlines and rent a car companies decided to use the internet to turn their customers into free sales service people. Automatic driving cars is going to get rid of Uber and cab drivers. Donald Trump and you are buying into an argument that is in the past. If you have a kid going to med school they probably aren't going to make to much money reading MRI's and scans in a few years either.

exactly, Trump's ideas are completely obsolete. These manufacturing jobs simply aren't coming back. Like these international corporations would seriously leave their brand new factories overseas to come back to the busted down U.S. factories that have been gathering dust to hire more expensive workers simply because of a trade deal Trump or anyone else negotiated. Its absurd.

The majority of imports we get from China are materials and coatings anyway. You step in on that and all you are doing is making it more difficult for manufacturing in the U.S.

You want to "bring back industry" here in the U.S.??? how about investing in the future instead of the past. Invest in the engineers, software developers, etc. that are working on additive manufacturing in this country. Then we can get out ahead of everyone again and have the "second industrial revolution" in this country. Then in 50 years when the rest of the world catches up our kids and grandkids can converse again about the outsourcing of jobs.

So now a ten year old recording comes out that has Trump stating that he just grabs women by the pussy if he wants to and can get away with it because he's famous. Swell. It's true that some guys talk like this and it is accepted but those guys are around thirteen years old, not in their fifties. I wonder if this is the first of weekly revelations being lined up for airing. I also wonder why this came out on a Friday while a hurricane is running up the coast - some amateurs involved here.
