Please if monopolies were against the law ATT wouldn't have merged with all the Bell companies again. Even if poles were local the politicians are bought and don't secure local internet services for it's people.
The abuse on the people only gets deeper into the pocket if you think Net neutrality isn't a problem these ISPs will continue to raise rates and lower service. Fragmenting the internet into little tiny sub packages that you can purchase.

So, you don't trust the government to enforce existing monopoly laws, think that the existing government officials are corrupt and accept bribes to enforce policies that abuse the people, but the solution to all of this is to .... give the government more power?

I am having trouble with the logic.

It would be interesting to see someone do an analysis on the tiered pricing these internet providers have to see if they are actually noticeably different speeds or if its all just bullshit

I see both sides of the issue here myself. He brings up a good point. The internet today is like if in the 1800s cities said okay were not going to do anything with electricity in our cities. Its a free for all in the private sector. We'd have National Grid telling folks "okay you used all your allotted electricity for one day"

on the other hand I don't know if I consider internet a "utility" or not and I see your points as well

Heh I agree with you sentiment less government the better. Agreed. But still stand by the fact we need to protect the internet. Making it more constricted and less reachable is exactly what BOOK BURNING IS

Tiered pricing on plans? Here's one example is in Kansas City, MO Comcast offers 100down/100upgigabyte plans for almost 70$ with no data limits why so fast for so cheap? Because it's one of the many market Google has emerged in.

But in other places/regions there's data caps(like cell phone service which is also BULLSHIT) there are on 25down/5up in my area for 70$. Where there is competion it is better for citizens where there is not you are paying out of your ass for this basic service you DESERVE and quite frankly where we are in the world IT SHOULD BE YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE INFORMATION

I know the election is over but back to voter ID laws. Seems Obama and the Dems. were all up in arms saying voter ID laws are discriminatory and infringe on peoples right to vote.

Does anyone see the irony in Ellen DeGeneres being denied admission to the White House because she didn't have her ID?

I've been watching the Mars show and Elon Musk is 100 times scarier to me than president Trump. He's basically infiltrating not only NASA but the entire international space construct, and the amount of international government space money he could end up capitalizing on is likely a staggering amount.

But they're portraying him as some sort of iconic visionary. The fucking dude is a business man.

Someday that dude is gonna be the most powerful man on the planet. Bank on it.

Trump to scrap NASA climate research in crackdown on "politicized science"(Hypocritical)

He's(Trump) pushing climate science funding into NOAA, which unlike NASA isn't an independent agency and is instead a division of the Department of Commerce. His top prospect for Secretary of Commerce is Wilbur Ross, a billionaire chairman of a major coal company (International Coal Group).

    Can't make this up

It's all part of Trump's plan to drain the swamp and then mine it for coal.

"we don't need white people running the party right now"
"I'm here for the millennials and the brown folks"

    Why is this ok?

well the Democratic Party is pretty obviously a coalition of special interests cobbled together without much in the way of unifying principles other than nurturing victimhood. White people nurturing their own victimhood just got their own champion.
I give her probs for being honest about it at least.

I have no f'n idea who chic is. Never heard of her. Such is the wreckage that is the Dem Party. I wonder if she realizes that the majority of millennials in the party are white?
