Chiarelli fucked up on our end too though. We could've used Hamonic, why not send Eberle and a pick for Hamonic and take care of two to-do's in one transaction? Instead Calgary gets better, and we have to overpay Kris Russell. Anyways, I think Eberle will be a good fit for the Isles.
Don't get me wrong, I like Eberle and his natural position at wing, what irks me about the trade is the feeling that it will be like Nino Nederraiter. Capuano hated the kid and never gave him a chance, so Snow trades him to the Wild and now he flourishes, he was the winger they needed all along. Now that Strome is playing better, they trade him, for a winger that they need. I say keep your center,(Strome) let him develope under DW then simply sign a FA winger or trade some prospects for a good winger. They way Snow makes trades he is always putting himself in a position where he is always leaving the team with a void.
The two teams I am most interested in this Free Agency are the two promising young teams: Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs. I think both really aren't too many pieces away from Cup runs. Also interested to see how Nashville replaces James Neal, where all the Caps UFA go (Justin Williams, Kevin Shattenkirk and Karl Alzner) and if the Caps (ironically low on Cap space) make any surprise moves to free up space. What are you guys interested in?
Priority #1 lock up McDavid. Then go from there. Hearing it's close to a done deal, can't be announced til July 1. Fuck Toronto.
The Washington Capitals traded forward Marcus Johansson to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for 2018 second- and third-round picks....wtf....salary dump in the division too
