I think Blues beat Nashville. this seriously hurt Minnesota's chance in Game 5: http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/NHL/...-into-boards-taken-to-hospital/9571492903911/
Congratulations, @Jake! The Young Gun Oilers have eliminated the Defending Western Conference Champion Sharks! The 2nd Round of the Western Conference playoffs is set too: Nashville Predators vs. St. Louis Blues Edmonton Oilers vs. Anaheim Ducks. Should be great!
Boston on track to cause more misery for Canada. They killed off 3 Ottawa PPs and then scored on their first one. Game 7 would be Tuesday in Ottawa.
watching coverage between periods. NBC crew has no idea. They're discussing Bobby Ryan and Milbury (I think) says Boucher has been playing Ryan a lot so we should credit Boucher. Ryan has actually been getting LESS ice time than during the season when you factor in the overtime, not more. non-OT games: Game 1: 12:27 Game 4: 13:09 so whatever the reason for Ryan's turnaround, it's not the coach having more faith in him by giving him more run.
MacArthur in OT with a power play goal to send Ottawa through. Looks like: Rangers at Ottawa Pittsburgh at Washington Nashville at St. Louis Edmonton at Anaheim top teams in goal differential this season: 1)Washington 2)Minnesota, lost in 5 3)Chicago, lost in 4 4)Columbus, lost in 5 However, the gap between first and second was 23 goals.
a harmless shot behind the goal ricocheted off the cameraman's well or something and gave Matthews the puck all alone in front of the net. His first shot of the game and he knew what to do with it.
Hats off to the young Toronto Maple Leafs. Honestly one of the toughest series of the Ovechkin Era by far. And that includes the ones they lost. I bet we will see multiple Maple Leafs-Oilers Stanley Cup Finals over the next decade. As for the Caps, they open up Thursday vs. the Penguins. I think I am going to go to Game 1, but should be a similar series to last year's. Caps have added Shattenkirk and Eller, Pens have lost Letang and possibly Murray, but I have a feeling it will go 7. I'll take the Caps in 7. Other series: Rangers in 6 over Senators. Ducks in 7 over Oilers. Predators in 6 over Blues.
Not bad (6-2) 1st Round predictions. Obviously way off on Blackhawks and happy I was wrong about Rangers. I just took the regular season Habs sweep over them too seriously I guess.
now two days off before the West series start on Wednesday. Matt Murray is not close to returning, apparently. He hasn't skated. The Penguins may get Kunitz and/or Ruhwedel back, not that they matter much. Alzner for the Capitals should be back for round 2. I'll post vbetting tomorrow for SC winner. Caps will be favored.
