I spent hours on my bracket.

A bunch of upsets. Whenever it was close, I tried to pick the lower seed.

As did I. I tried to avoid the entire right side of the bracket when I picked my winners (I did three brackets). Just seems that Gonzaga, Arizona, Nova and Duke have a very nice chance to make the finals where as in the South & Midwest it's a clusterfuck. Kansas, Kentucky, UNC, UCLA, Louisville, Oregon - I can see see any of those teams making a run.

I think Kansas and UCLA are soft this year. Have them both losing in round of 32. Going with Nevada as my dark horse, and also think Wichita should have been a 4 or 5, not a 10. So I think they can make a deep run...the problem is running into Kentucky in the next round.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/tom-crean-fired-by-indiana-after-nine-seasons-162635109.html

Indiana has fired head basketball coach Tom Crean, according to a release from the program Thursday afternoon.

Crean spent nine years at Indiana, where he won two Big Ten titles, made four NCAA tournaments and three Sweet 16s. His overall record was 166-135.

In an all-timer of a news dump, Indiana announced the news just as the first game of the NCAA tournament tipped off Thursday — on the same afternoon that two other Indiana schools, Notre Dame and Butler, play their first games of the tournament. Purdue, a third, plays Thursday night.

As much as I doubt any Pac-12 team, I cannot call any team what went into Rupp Arena and beat a Kentucky team as "soft".

3-0 Say for the Big East. It's a shame Providence had to choke away a 16 point lead.

Someone has to explain to me why the NCAA tournament automatically "sucks" if the higher seed does not win every game?

When it comes to the tourny, I use a few stats to help me handicap the games. My favorites are 3pt defense and F.T. % and attempts.

    UCLA
    3pt defense ranking - 255
    F.T. Attempts ranking - 282

    Kansas
    3pt defense - 227
    F.T. % made - 284

Thats pretty fuckin bad for these high seeds. Obviously, they have enough talent and athleticism to overcome, but I think they are in trouble down the line. I do think Nova wins though bud!

St. Mary's screwed by the committee but they acquitted themselves well.

Easily handled VCU and lost to the #2 seed Arizona in a game that was close throughout (Gaels led for over 10 minutes of it, I think).

Had they been seeded properly, they'd almost certainly be in the Sweet 16.

my guys in URI showing some swagger to close out the half. None of us expected them to be up 8 at the half against Oregon but I'll take it. Trouble is Martin has barely played and our free throw shooting is atrocious this year despite the winning streak.

    Arkansas looking to upset UNC.

Browning, while Rhode Island beat a dinged-up Creighton that only went 8-7 down the stretch, I still thought (above post) they were THE A-10 team to beat heading into the tourney. No showing up after-the-fact with some retarded Rhody bandwagon-jumping here amigo ;)

Good call Joe Rhody almost got it done... such a shame. They hit that basket to go up up 4 with like a minute and a half left and they were celebrating like it was already over!!!!

Hurley tried to settle em down and keep them focused but damn Oregon hit some big shots.
(Aided by a non call on a clear over the back) I hate to see teams lose like that
