any team that gives Rose a long term deal after the way he murdered the Bulls the last few seasons...

Rose is a straight up thief. 20 million a year and he repeatedly quits on his team, only playing when he wants to, and also chucking up tons of threes when he can't shoot straight.

Rose is a cancer and a locker room problem waiting to happen.

Honestly, the Knicks would probably be better off if this wound up as a straight up trade for an expiring contract, as opposed to getting Rose.

Either he's going to ruin the season, or he's going to somehow play well enough to convince the fanbase (and thus the team) to keep him.

Just remember, this guy sat out an entire playoffs well after he was medically cleared to play, and he was doing highlight dunks during practice throughout that playoffs (a year after the knee injury).

I actually really like the deal. One year and we get more cap space. I am for it, and hopefully it attracts a big fish

It's typical NY, trade for a guy like Rose, he's GOING to get injured a lot, they'll cut him really and get some worthless piece of garbage to replace him and he will dominate a couple of seasons for another team after people stop paying him attention.

    Typical Knicks.

Phil is probably going to retire in a year. He only cares about LA.

IF YOU STILL ROOT FOR THE KNICKS YOU DESERVE THE MISERY.

According to Alan Hahn, the Knicks are meeting with Durant on July 1st.

If Rose attracts Durant to the Knicks, the trade is an automatic win. I know people are down on Rose, but imagine Durant coming, and even if Rose doesn't work out, he's off the books and Westbrook is a free agent next year with a deep draft class as well. Phil Jackson is trying to set us up with a big 3, something they have failed at for the 10 years before he was hired. He knows superstars are needed to win, and this was probably in his mind for a while.

This just got me from 6 to 12 real quick, but then I realized it is the Knicks we are talking about and that it definitely won't happen.

Rose is a one year deal that cost them nothing, talent wise, but makes them far more interesting to other free agents than Brook Lopez or Robin Lopez or whatever Lopez we had.

There is nothing remotely interesting for the Durant on the Knicks. He gets to go up against LeBron for the next several years with no shot of competing.

OKC, GS, Spurs make so much more sense. And he said it himself, he really doesn't need the money.

The only people who think the Knicks are enticing to anyone are Knick fans. It's a dumpster fire.

For 60 million we got Phil Jackson and hes no Zen fool not to grab that $

The Derek Rose move is desperation for Mr Genius, but it may very well work out especially if he somehow gets Noah here with DR friendship as part of thr deal

Did Chandler Parsons opt out of his contract? That's a guy I'd like to see on the Knicks much more than Durant.

No you don't. Parsons is a walking knee surgery waiting to happen.

Good thing the Knicks are going after Noah instead of Dwight, good move for you guys.

Dwight Howard would've been a fuckin disaster as a Knick.

This might sound crazy but if/when the Warriors fail to land Durant they should go after Howard. Howard is a little bitch but he is still an excellent interior defender and rim protector and that's the area in which the Warriors were exposed. In GS Howard could just protect the rim, score on put backs, and get winning glory without the expectations of being the big name on the team. Exactly what that kid wants/needs.

Hassan Whiteside or Dwight Howard? Howard is still the better 1 on 1 post defender which I think we both agree on, but Whiteside is a better FT shooter, and the guy averaged closed to 4 blocks. Howard is on the decline, Whiteside might be on the uprising. Tough one, but I might have to go with Whiteside ...

oh yeah I forgot about Whiteside. I'd rather have him too. I can't believe he would leave Miami
