I opined that Taylor has been playing well and Buffalo fans are excited. You countered with he was a 6th round pick. I'm failing to to see how that supersedes that he's playing well and his fans are excited.
Knowing he is a 6th round pick, that no one paid above vet minimum for in free agency, with lifetime stats of 19 comp. in 35 att. for 199 yds.with no TDs and 2 INTs is it really that much of a stretch to the thinking it is more about the level of competition he is currently playing against rather than him really playing well? Just look at today's game Cassel 85.7%, Manuel 87.5%, Taylor 92.3% and to top those off Simms 100% completion percentage. Is that about them lighting it up or just an obvious problem with the Steeler D. And let's go back to your original post that I replied to I guess it is your prerogative to think he has a "good problem on his hands" rather than what I see in that not one of those QBs was able to step above the others and really take the QB1 position.
AJ McCaron is going to be starting in Cinncy within 3 -4 weeks. Why the fuck Idzik didn't draft this guy instead of Dexter McDougle, Jalen Saunders, Shaq Evans, Dakota Dozier, Jeremiah George. Fucking POS. _
And it's your prerogative to think that Taylor is not playing well and the Bills fans are not excited over the QB competition they have. But both still exist.
Tie Rod Taylor did make a small handful of good throws in that game, but the public masturbation the commentators were doing was hilarious. There was a number times when the Pitt defense went into obvious prevent mode (for some unknown reason) with a pretty weak 4 man rush and the guy just stood back there and threw short pitches to wide open receivers and you'd hear about poise and accuracy and astounding drives, you'd think the guy was throwing tight windows into tight coverage instead of hitting some nobody on a quick comeback with a zone corner 15 yards downfield. There was a point where I wondered if Tomlin wanted to manipulate Rex into choosing Taylor as their starter. But hey, there's buzz and a real competition. Go Rex Go.
He was very quiet. The Jets D-line mauled a horrible Giants O-line so not a lot of runs got to the second level, mitigating his impact on the running game. Didn't see too much of him in coverage. Even if he turns out to be a hit I'd 100x rather have Teddy than a good strong safety.
I think we are going to see one of the worst Pittsburgh Steelers defenses EVER this season. That offense will need to score 30 points each week.
Never said he wasn't playing well, what I said was that he was doing it against sub-par players. I am glad Bills fans are excited that none of Cassel, Taylor, Manuel and Simms have been able to distance themselves from the others, makes me feel that much better about the Jets QB situation.
Jalen Saunders with a nice 50 yard KOR for the Saints. And Jalen Strong for the Texans looks really good. Nice drive by Mallet. Monster arm on that dude. _
Carr seems to have settled down looking better. Amari Cooper with a couple nice grabs. And nice run after the catch on one. _
