On top of that, most experts are predicting a one score game that I have seen. There's no disrespect there, the Packers a good team and are at home and people are picking them to beat us by 1 score.
I've been feeling the same way all week. I think we win this game and Geno finally plays a clean game. Playing Rodgers is scary, but we got that defensive line and running game. I don't care how many yards Rodgers throws for - just don't break at the RZ.
Offense: 1. Controll TOP as much as possible (Ivory, Johnson, Powell). 2. Geno needs to take care of the ball and not give Rogers a short field. Should Smith take off, get what's there then get down - slide. 3. Account for Matthews and Peppers on screens least they're in position to blow them up or even worse, cause a turnover. 4. Possibly take advantage of Ha-Ha wanting to make a play and use his agressiveness against him by taking the occassional shot deep with the "3rd" WR Kerley (e.g. having Decker run a post at Ha-Ha while sneaking Kerley downfield with a fake hook then breaking down the deep seam behind Decker with Kerley having at worse 1-on-1 coverage). Out on the perimeter, watch out for Shields, he's decent with the ability to break on the ball. Defense: 1. Off the bat, the Jets need to stop Lacy (and watch out for FB Kuhn in short distance and goal line situations). Not sure how much they're going to feature Lacy coming off his concussion. 2. Need Coples (and Babin) on passing downs. Also wonder what Rex has in store for Pryor… 3. A concern is Aaron Rogers' ability to create plays outside of the pocket as well. Should Rogers take off the secondary cannot break coverage and leave somone unaccounted for (e.g. the way the Bears 'lost' Reggie Cobb at the end of their game last year). Generally, as with last week keep everything in front of them and make Green Bay travel the long field. Packers will be looking to go quick/no-huddle this week which will be easier for them since they won't have to contend with crowd noise (while on offense) at home. Overall, I'm worried about the Jets defense wearing down should the Pack go no-huddle, esp. if Geno and the offense are producing several quick 3 and outs. Packers: homecoming, 10 days off, coming off a loss…doesn't look good and why the point spread is what it is. Would love to see them somehow pull off the upset.
Which is why all the predictions for 2014 based on 8-8 off of the -97 point differential have to go out the window. The Jets got both lucky and unlucky last year. They got *very* lucky and *very* unlucky at the same time. As always the Jets are a prognosticator's nightmare, which is why so many prognosticators have become haters over the years. They make people who predict for a living look bad on a consistent basis.
Oh wow, Bart seemed so mad that I thought he was sarcastically thanking Keyshawn... Good catch Edit: ha, the author of the article thought the same thing: "Apparently, Keyshawn picked the Jets. We thought Bart was being sarcastic when he thanked Keyshawn for “having our backs.”"
If the Jets lose today they got a brutal schedule coming up. Might be tough but I will definitely be rooting for you guys the next two weeks after today of course. If we lose too were in a world of hurt as well. Must win game for both teams.
watching the matchup show this morning on NFL Network Sterling said Bulaga was out but everything I am seeing says he is playing. I actually think an injured Bulaga is better for us, although Sherod was absolutely terrible last week. Anyone see anything on this?
I live about 2 and a half hours away from ya then. I live in Upper Michigan. Its mostly Packer country up here but tons of Lion fans.
The short version, is I was a kid when the Packers were facing the Broncos in the SB, and EVERYONE obviously loved the Packers, and I wanted to be different, loved the unis Denver had, and became a big TD fan pretty fast. So I rooted for them in the late 90's until the 2002 season. At the end of the 2001 season (see my sig) I so happened to watch a Jets game on TV because they were facing the rival Raiders who back then I HATED, and they were REALLY good. Basically I stopped giving a damn about Denver, and my blood turned green then. I never looked back.
I legit thought we played at 1... Wow.. A few hours to relax, then. Run the rock, get to A-Rod, Keep him off the field.. Then we have a chance...
