Right with u Poe on that....it's like last year all those 10-6, 11-5 predictions.....granted injuries did play a roll but IMO not too much with the final record...... I am gonna repeat the 5-11 gig I had laid out last year. Not gonna be enough for a top 5 pick but we should be top 10. Our schedule is brutal the first half. But that's ok as long as we are prudent with the wallet and keep shredding the dead weight.
The teams in really bad shape headed in 2013, like disaster area shape: 1. Jacksonville Jaguars. Second year owner with his first GM hire (bad, it's a learning process). Same QB situation (bad). Lost 14 games last year (bad). The Jaguars are the favorite in the NFL to be on the clock on pick 1 next year. 2. Oakland Raiders. Second year GM whose team lost 4 more games than the year he took over without doing much in the way of rebuilding in the process (bad). QB situation is a mess (bad.) Yeah I know they got Matt Flynn that's one of the reasons the QB situation is a mess. Overall talent levels low, the Raiders do not have a single player on the roster at this point that you could argue in the top 10 at his position. None of their starters were voted to the pro bowl last year. The Raiders are nearly as likely as the Jaguars to own #1 next season. 3. Cleveland Browns. New head coach, new GM, ownership in flames at the moment. Only 5 picks in the draft just concluded and they took the guy most likely to bust out of the top 10. They're the Browns. It's sad but true. The Browns are most likely to get Teddy Bridgewater next year and god help him. After that everything gets murkier but those 3 teams are the favorites right now.
Someone gotta explain which one of these teams will EVER trade their incoming franchise QB to anyone, for ANY number/combination of picks. Especially in the era of rookie pay scale... Would Colts traded their 1st round pick (= Luck) to anyone, for anything?
The 1 and 2 picks next year just aren't going to be for sale if things look then like they look now. Probably the only way that either pick gets traded is if they go for each other because the team with the 1 pick wants to take the big QB and the team with the 2 pick is willing to pay through the nose for Clowney.
That's the only way, even then I don't see that happening. I'm just tired of "Wait for next year, we'll get Clowney" business. Quarter of the forum is arguing that next year pick is better than Geno and so Idzik had to wait... It's like there is a fucking Walmart at Radio City. Want Clowney -- no problem! It's 3rd aisle. Just go to the middle, they will be on the 2nd shelf on your right, sir! Got it? Great! $12.98 + tax... cash or credit?
