Cortland is a shithole, there is no debating that. There is a reason the team practices there. It's not meant to be a vacation, and the sole purpose is getting ready for the season, in tough conditions, with no potential distractions.

the jets surely have the best defense in Cortland ny. Milliner is probably the best CB there too.

Mr.Hill is the most divisive player on the team right now isn't he?

I'm not of the opinion that he should be cut, but not of the opinion that he'll develop into a stud receiver one day either.

his instincts and technique are rudimentary at best, he's not a very instinctive wide receiver if that makes sense. And is it just me, or is he not that shifty at all? its like if he isn't running in straight line he's just a lanky giraffe, because he's such a long striding runner his football speed so to speak isn't all that great.but his straight line speed IS all that and a bag of chips and he can spread a defense on obvious passing downs. he gets a little bit of space in any given situation and he's probably gone.

Give this information, I'd rather see him used more on obvious passing downs, where this straight-line speed will be at its most effective. he's a mediocre short gain receiver, I'd rather decker or nelson be in on that role, but he CAN hold a place in an NFL offense. Just not a prominent every down one.

No NFL players looks forward to saying goodby to their $10M mansions (with pools and parties) and moving into a 12x14 dorm room with another player for 3 weeks. Zero. Nada.

But doing so really does isolate the players from outside distractions and creates an atmosphere of brotherhood.

Leaving practice everyday to go clubbing till 5am with your homies is probably not that good as far as team building goes.

So....going away to camp is good for the TEAM. And Cortland is the perfect place to do it. It's green, outdoors, scenic, modern campus, and co-eds galore. Plus you have strip clubs in Syracuse, cliff jumping in Ithaca, the Finger Lakes region to the west, and Lake Ontario with the most beautiful fresh water beaches on the planet to the north.

When the players get a day off there's many options to relax and enjoy themselves.

Plus I get to jump in the Hummer and go see 'em play whenever I feel like it!

    Cortland +1

In 2000 something AAA rated Rt 81 through Cortland as the most scenic highway in America. But I guess you gotta like 'scenic', which may be asking a lot of a 21 yr old who just got his first million!

I know. I used to bumper hitch on the back of one of our cars in the blizzards on 81 as we were driving back to Cuse after our hockey games with Binghamton. Been on that road 1000 times. Driving my son up next month.

    Beautiful scenery.

Much like those gorgeous flatland cow pastures in Indiana.

Nice! I went to SUNY Bing and my nephew is in Syracuse. And before Suny Bing it was Clarkson in Potsdam....which means more 81. One year they closed 81 near watertown due to blizzard and we spent the night in a farm house. By the morning there were 18 families all in that one house. Crazy! Oh ya my nephew plays hockey

That happened to me too. I was driving back to Syracuse from Watertown late at night and first there was a whiteout from the lake effect snow and then my alternator went out. I trudged through the snow towards a single light I could see burning in a little old farmhouse and knocked on the door. An old farmer came out and I asked him if he had room for me to spend the night and he said it was pretty crowded in the house with him, the wife, three dogs and four cats. I told him I was sorry to trouble him and started to turn away and he called me back saying if I wanted to, I could share a bed with his eighteen year old son. I said "Sorry, I must be in the wrong joke."

And that's all we need at this point, surely? Hill will, almost certainly, never live up to his second round status. It would take a huge leap for him to become the sort of receiver that we hoped he could be when we drafted him and there is no evidence that he's made any significant progress. But that is history now, I'm more interested in if he can become a credible situational threat for us. I don't think this is anywhere near as much of an ask and it is a role that I'm not sure we really have anyone else that's better suited to fill either. While I've no hope that Hill will ever become a star I haven't given up on him performing a role for us, but he has to start delivering now.

So that means he can be cut before the season with no cap implications?

You haven't learned this yet? If you make a point that the the people who share an opposing viewpoint can't refute, you're a homer. Has nothing to do with your opinion being wrong or right. It has to do with the oppositions ability (or non-ability I guess) to come up with something logical.
