Geno is looking very good. Knows the offense very well now. Vick also looking very strong, but Geno has received 75% of the snaps the last two days. Eric Decker looks flawless and his footwork and hands are impeccable. Hill seems to be improving well and Nelson looks very good. The three of them are making a very strong case for having a very good unit. The other drafted guys are struggling with the jitters. Ford also looks very good and as fast as HELL. Wilkerson and Richardson are owning everyone in 2 on 1 drills. Just dominating the line. McDougle looks very promising and very athletic. Davis is taking a HUGE step in his second year. Looks to be blossoming. No real update from Pryor in the secondary yet, but hitting starts tomorrow. Offensive line has had no real update either. All in all, the offense seems to be taking major steps forward and the defense is looking as strong as ever. Praise from Kerley and Decker on Vick as well. Said Geno is becoming an NFL QB and is calling audibles at the line, something he struggled doing all season last year. Seems to be a strong battle at QB right now.
Right, Vick getting into shape should not be so newsworthy. Wait till season rolls around and he will open up a can whoop ass on opponents.
Here's your update. Cimini is a tool and the beat writers generally fluff it up. Anyone who has been to camp, watched it closely, and later read the beat writers pieces would realize that they don't give a great picture of what actually happened. I don't expect their tweets to be much better.
I'm aware of that but I realized it would be better than nothing and decided not to impose on someone to type it all out. Luckily a good poster responded before he saw my edit and was in the mood to do it so it works out better, can't say the same about you.
I love you guys but…..it's 2014: knock that crap off. Let's move on please? Should Smith show his mettle (understanding the offense-wise, etc.), then the Jets are in fine shape with no less an experienced option than Michael Vick (a former #1 overall pick) as their backup. …..only day #2….sounds promising, lets's wait unti "Joe the TGG cub reporter" gets up there next weekend for practices and the Green & White game.
I'm just reiterating what I'm hearing lol He asked what was going on, and I told him what I've heard.
Anyone hear anything on Willie Campbell yet at guard? Last I heard I thought he hurt his arm or something but he wasn't on the PUP so wondering if he's on the radar for that guard spot opposite Winters.
Are you serious? You're asking someone to read through 24 pages and give you a summary. You post a request as if it's a case of need but in reality your showing a great deal of contempt to anyone who has taken the time to read through the entire thread. I gave you a fair update that was as relevant as summarizing all of the fluff. If you read through the entire thread, you'd see that some of the bigger posters here haven't even bothered to post in it (and perhaps even read it). Why do you think it is that someone like Bradwaysux who apparently lives here has nothing to say about camp. Do you think he's not interested in camp. The tweets are pictures of players walking on and off the field or standing around. The play by play tweets read like a box score. With all due respect to Falco21, his post consists of describing well established players by why they're well established. What he says about Geno cannot be determined from what has been written here. Maybe he was at camp but who knows. I really don't want to trash the guy but I have to post the following to make my point. However, what could you have possibly learned from "Offensive line has had no real update either."
74Mangold, what Turbocharged23 is asking for is the type of information that would be useful if it were actually tweeted. Unfortunately, the people who's job it is to bring us camp seem to miss stuff like this.
Way too much bitching, and complaining in this thread. I took the better part of the afternoon to read everything in here I missed from today, but not everyone wants to, or has time to. If you don't want to read everything, just check out the twitter updates that Petro posted again. http://www.theganggreen.com/new-york-jets-training-camp/2014/07/25/ For anyone that missed it. PS. Saw a previous post..Trufant doesn't play for us anymore for the record. Also, saw the Geno "stats", and saw his "best play." The best play was a great pass that was dropped by Gates go figure, but in his "stats" there was no mention of a drop. Hmm
Between position drills (when the receivers were being defended by air), and 7-on-7 and team periods (when defensive backs guarded them), the Jets’ receivers had a rough time. Well, not all of them. The following receivers dropped passes: Greg Salas, Jacoby Ford (two), Saalim Hakim (two), Clyde Gates and Shaq Evans. Running back Alex Green and tight end Jace Amaro each had one drop. So Amaro had a drop too...but I don't see anyone here bitching about it......
Aside from the drop that Amaro had today, where are the several that he had in the past two days? We've already been through the minicamp crap, that doesn't really count.
