Im not sure why you'd make picks with Geno in mind long term, the guy is gonna be a wildcat package player somewhere within two years
Do we go with David Yankey the OG here, or an OLB/ILB? Wouldn't mind another WR personally. I'd even take Bryant or Janis here. Add some size.
I don't get worked up about height too much especially in today's NFL with cornerbacks being neutered a bit with rule changes. Ed Bell, Drew Hill, and Tommy McDonald were short wide receivers who had good careers.
Alshon Jeffrey, Calvin, Dez, Julio, Marshall, DT, Decker, Jordy, Britt, Nicks, C-Patt, Bowe, Josh Gordon, Blackmon, Crabtree, Mike Evans, Vince Jackson, Greg Jennings, Justin Hunter...these guys are at a premium. Obviously they don't fall to the 4th round but there's a reason guys like Kerley and Ford get nicked up and miss games. Plus they don't score as many touchdowns at the next level as bigger WRs. Smaller guys pop off the screen but very few finish with top 30 seasons.
I understand this is your opinion and that's perfectly fine. I, however, do not agree with this line of thinking based off Geno's rookie season of which he had very few offensive weapons to work with. Why not give him a chance and provide him with those weapons? Decker & Amaro will certainly help him.
Saunders was a 4th round pick. The big, tall, premium receivers are gone. I am not getting up in arms over the Saunders pick.
