John Schuhmann @johnschuhmann 16m Scoring - Home teams: 787, Road teams 787. RT @matt_winer: Road teams 5-3 in Game 1's this weekend… badly blown call right at the end sticks out. Howard should've been at the line, not Freeland.
Good, its good for the NBA. Now we have 5 teams in danger of falling 0-2 and losing both home games which is essentially a death sentence in the NBA. Plenty of teams under a ton of pressure.
Tonight's Warriors Clippers game should be epic. Warriors are fighting for their coach. Damian Lillard had an amazing post-season debut.
It's good for the NBA but allow me to overanalyze all the game 1s, Miami, SA, and OKC all held home court. Those 3 have been the running favorites for what 3 years in a row now? Those are also the 3 if they dropped game 1, we could easily say "oh they'll win 4 in a row and advance". Every other team left, even the road winners, I don't see a sweep.
And I think the player under the most pressure is Chris Paul. He has the coach, he has the supporting cast, what more does he need? Its time for him to get somewhere. Dwight Howard can survive getting beat in the first round, Chris Paul cannot. This is the Rockets first year with Dwight so I think they will get a pass, especially if Aldridge is going to play like he did last night. Durants the other guy that will be facing the pressure, because if he does not wit it all this year, people will begin to start asking the questions, especially after the MVP campaign he had.
the only three series where I thought a sweep was possible was Miami, Indiana, SA. Obviously Indiana can no longer do it.
I thought the Hawks would steal a game because of their starting lineup. Just not the first game and I didn't except their ball handler outside of Teague to be consistently beating the Pacers off the dribble.
NBA says call on Dwight at end of HOU/POR game was incorrect, as we all knew. That's two playoff games in one day NBA admits to messing up a late game call that hindered the chance of LAC and HOU winning.
Kendrick Perkins vs. Memphis: Five playoff games last year, 4/24 FG, 12 total points (made exactly 1 FG in four of the five games), 18 total fouls One playoff game this year: 1/1 FG, 2 points, 3 turnovers, 4 fouls So aside from being very ineffective, it's amusing that he has made exactly one field goal in 5 of the 6 games. He also did that in 3 out of the last 4 regular season games this year.
I think it's great that you waited until they jumped out to a lead and then posted. I will tell you in the second half whether I think Memphis will win, ok?
I've never liked Perkins period. It's the one part of being a Thunder fan I don't like. He was a big part of why I didn't like Boston.
