Ok...that doesn't really say, or prove much anything. I just said that it appears likely that the 2 teams I dislike the most will go to the championship for the second year in a row. Anybody can research championship history. That said, after OKC obviously, my rooting order is Indiana, then the SAS.
"A Tale of Two Cites" - Chucky Dickens It was the best of times, but I meant it was the worst of times, I never meant it was the best of times…. soxxx, stop digging.
You'd be pissed too if you got this far, only to have your 3rd best player go down for the rest of the way.
And I would actually argue that Ibakas presence against the San Antonio Spurs is nearly as important as Westbrooks. Westbrooks clearly more valuable but without Ibaka, Parker will be able to penetrate and Duncan will be able to dominate the paint. Ibakas also dominates with the rebounds which is another significant loss.
That is a very good point, and part of my frustration. I knew already it was going to be a rough series, but now I honestly can't see us winning it. I know one person shouldn't make all the difference, but it's a close match-up. The Spurs can afford these type of blows much better than the Thunder, because they have the coaching edge to find a way to get over it, along with the extreme depth that the Thunder do not have. I'm not giving up hope, but I'm definitely not about to start any smack talk either. Good luck Soxxx. If you take us out, I'll be rootin for ya.
I honestly do not think any team will beat the Heat. 3peat is destiny. Knicks are fucked anyway. I need a new team to latch onto.
I thought the winner of LAC/OKC would win it all, but it broke badly because the winner of the series lost a key player. Would've been better off with LAC advancing. So now I really don't know. I think the Spurs got a huge gift getting to avoid both the Clippers and a healthy Thunder. Draft lottery on Tuesday. Here are the series odds: Mon 5/19 883 Oklahoma City Thunder (Series) +185 9:00PM 884 San Antonio Spurs (Series) -200 Sun 5/18 881 Miami Heat (Series) -360 3:30PM 882 Indiana Pacers (Series) +325
NYJATW, maybe the Heat were lame at one time (the ESPN-incubated Labron/Dwane/Bosh coming out appearance on stage) but exactly how are the Spurs lame? And besides, both teams represent multi-championship winning squads. Lame? Lame's an avatar festOOned with fake tits ; )
It's just boring imo to have the exact same championship series again, and I just feel like the Spurs play slow, and I like faster, more up tempo teams.
In the regular season OKC played at the 9th fastest pace and the Spurs at the 12 fastest. In the playoffs, and this is less accurate since it is more matchup based, the Spurs have played at the 4th fastest pace. I still want OKC/MIA because if OKC can knock off SA without Ibaka, it means they can compete with MIA.
OKC fans, does Nick Collison have a jumper? He hit that 3 last game, but I don't know if that was end of quarter desperation or something he practices and took a couple steps outside his range? If he can shoot, you can shift your offense so runs through Collison at the top of court. This way Collison set his screens and run handoff plays, and you can throw it to Westbrook or KD in the post and bring a defender out. If the defender cheats you throw it to Collison and get a quick 4 vs 3 if spacing is correct. However, of course that depends on Brooks not doubling down and going more Kendrick Perkins which I think will hurt the OKC. Will be interesting, Brooks gets another excuse if this season ends here.
He only has like 9 career 3s i think. He's not much for offense usually, but this is his biggest opportunity really.
You're totally unfamiliar with them if you think they play slow. That they move the ball and actually run plays doesn't equate to slow play.
Can he shoot the midrange shot? His 3 looked like a guy taking a few steps out of his comfort range more than a guy not know how to shoot from out there like a Dwight or Hibbert. That's why I brought it up
People still think its all about Duncan posting up.....I guess people might find that boring but thats not really not the Spurs anymore. A lot of it is now Parker and slowly Leonhard, Parker is one of the most exciting players to watch. (Yes he does dribble a lot but come on, so does every other PG.
