Yeah a one game sample size is a perfect way to judge players

Well excuses or reasons? Again, has Tony Parker been the best player on a championship team? Nope. Has CP3, nope. Tony Parker has one of the greatest coaches and players of all time, and CP3 outproduces him and outproduces him in the playoffs, when CP3 is supposedly not up to par.

Rondo bumped a ref and got suspended for it in the playoffs. Oh look your inner Skip Bayless is coming in. You want to see one of the worst performances of PG ever, go watch some Knicks games from this year and watch Raymond Felton. CP3 made some mistakes late, so all of it sudden it invalidates how he's played better than Parker? Sorry nope, that was the stupid same reasoning why Lebron wasn't the best player in the world.

I'll take Parker in his prime. CP3 now.

Without Chris Paul, the Clippers wouldn't have even been in a position to win. He made a couple of stupid and costly plays in the final minutes, but he was great again for most of the game.

The most commonly referred to stat for point guards is assist to turnover ratio.

This series, Paul has averaged 12.2 assists and 2.2 turnovers.

He's an incredible talent and the best point guard in the game, and two bad/stupid plays in the final minute don't change anything about that.

When was Parker in his prime?

EDIT: And is CP3 in his prime or not yet or has it passed?

Parker has been playing at a very high level since the start of the 2012 season. Parker right now is better than Chris Paul, and has been since at least 2012.

I'm not basing it on a one game sample size lol I just brought that up as an example.

    Good lol.

Too many people overreact in the NBA, like calling John Wall the best player in the NBA :p

I see it like Parker was near the beginning of his prime 5-6 years ago when he was around 26, he's reaching the end now. CP3 is a couple years younger and has been in his prime for 4-5 years and is still there and hasn't lost a beat. Parker's a great player but he doesn't compare to CP3. CP3 averaged 19, 10 this year (pts/ast), Parker was at 16, 5. CP3 has been better than Parker for pretty much his whole career. He's an assist machine. Parker isn't as flashy but gets the job done in big spots, especially in the playoffs, he just can't produce like CP3 though. I'll take Parker during those Spurs playoff runs, but overall I'm rolling with Chris Paul.

Who the hell would do such a thing? It's just a real life interpretation of it.

Based on this this regular season only, I had Tony Parker as the 4th best PG. But I also have #2-#4 shuffling quite a bit during the year.

I have CP3, Westbrook, Curry, Parker, but again 2-4 is very close. I might be forgetting someone, but those are my 4 for this year only.

I took into account points, rebounds, assists, turnovers, steals (all per 36), shooting %, AST %, TOV %, +/- of the teams with and without them. I used per 36 minutes because Parker plays much less mpg than the other 3, so I didn't want to fault him for having a coach/team that doesn't need him for 35 mpg. I also looked at per game but felt it wasn't as important as the per 36 numbers. I also took into account WS/48 and PER as advanced stats.

EDIT: Also took into account each players' ORAT and DRAT to factor in.

That ruling I think is only used for rebounds. One guy has his hands on it, someone hits his hand and the ball goes out. However I've never seen that used off of an instant replay ruling and the refs said the replay was inconclusive, they didn't cite this ruling.

As bad as the refs messed up, so did the Clippers, but that shouldn't absolve the refs from calling a terribly officiated game that was anticipated pre game on twitter from 3-4 different media guys now.

The rulebook seems to say it can be applied to any situation.

As for bad officiating, I expect it. Some crews are worse than others, but this playoffs has featured a ton of blown calls.

yeah the causation thing is interesting because Barnes caused the ball to go out by knocking it loose, but he hit Jackson's left hand and then Jackson's right hand knocked it out. So he didn't directly hit the hand causing the ball to go out, it hit something in-between.
