No, they won't be getting Lowry. There are multiple reports that say the Heat are not expecting him to take a big enough pay cut to come to Miami and that they are focusing on getting Deng. And who's the $16 million you have in your math? LeBron is looking for $28 or $29 million. I think so also.
Lebron would get $28 million but that $28 does not go against the cap Only 16 million would. (as far as I know because of the soft cap?)
Oh, you are correct. My bad. I thought you were calculating the salaries. Yeah, it's looking more and more like Miami won't be doing anything except adding and subtracting pieces. I don't get it lol
Wow! Imagine Lowry and Carmelo go to Houston, considering Melo is meeting with Houston next. They would have Howard, Harden, Melo, and Lowry. Holy hell.
Wade, Lebron, Bosh had $15 million base salaries last time I believe. So essentially they went from $45 to $39. $6 million extra approximately? Yeah IDK how much they could do. Go Spurs go!
windhorst saying the Heat can get Lowry. He didnt really confirm that the reports of Bosh and Wade signing are legit. (It makes you wonder if they are real).
Two players that the Spurs have been able to shut down regularly: Melo and Paul. I really hope Melo goes to Houston.
The way I view it, the Heat need to get Lowry. And even if they do get him, it still doesnt guarantee anything.
Again, go reread about the situation. Did you read the whole article? Funny enough, it mentioned the restrictive CBA that was going to happen. So again, read up on the situation. If you thought the Nets were really that close, you don't have a full understanding of what happened during the talks and how Masai Ujiri works as a GM/exec/head of bball ops. Trust me, this Melo thing was constant talk on all Knicks forums before, during, after, and way after the trade. It was all we could talk about during the lockout really. It's been covered 100 times over. Denver strung the Nets along and the deal was suddenly very close every time the Knicks hesitated a bit. That's not a coincidence.
(For example a Broussard report vs a Woj report means two different things ) EDIT: Saw Yahoo sports in there, does it say who at Yahoo?
Interesting thanks, I should look into that. I have team stream by bleacher report but I usually just keep an eye on WOJ and Stein twitter accounts for news haha
Yeah I have that also, which I love for their articles, but this app is on point 99% of the time. Quick too
I don't see that happening. At all actually. The problem is, LeBron knows that championship window with Miami is almost closed. He wants a one year deal to see what they've got and then he's off. In my opinion, I think Miami's window is already closed. You can't expect Wade to play at a high level next season and who else did they get to help? Deng? Please.
Now its getting interesting. If this is true, and they didn't take as big of a cut as originally reported, then Miami might not have anything to play with. Riley may be a genius to get Wade, Bosh, and LeBron over, but he's really looking bad now. He is putting the future of this franchise into the hands of his players, which never ends well.
You never know. If the Heat cannot find players to play alongside Wade and Bosh (if they resign), Lebron will leave. So far it looks like they won't get Lowry, they won't get Gortat so who is left? Deng really? He won't take a discount. The window closed as soon as Wade regressed to the point where he's no longer effective on the court at all (see NBA finals). Wade is never leaving Miami anyway
