Yeah especially with the Mets talk, no one outside of NY cares about the Mets. Heck even in NY not many care anymore.
I liked their show and would seek them out when I was in LA but I was living in SoCal East so I totally got their humor, and when they mentioned something that only a local would know I got it. If I lived in a place like Nashville or Milwaukee I would have been like what the fuck is this shit?
This got posted in the other Francesa thread lol: http://www.newsday.com/sports/media...hreatens-lawsuit-for-simulcast-talk-1.9327519 Awww...they probably aren't happy he even broached THAT publicly.
he is better than Michel Kay though. Fat Boy might be a arrogant jerk but Michel kay is a sumg jerkoff. Him and his big head.
I have heard this about Kay many times, thankfully he has zero national exposure and I have never actually heard his voice or any of his apparently negligible opinions.
If I had to choose between Kay and Fatcesca, I would choose Fatcesca. The good thing about Fatcesca is that he thinks that he knows everything about sports and whenever someone calls in who knows more than he does he either hangs up on them or yells at them. When he had Dog with him he was somewhat tolerable. Kay is just boring and dry. Fat Boy has awesome entertainment value. Especially when he is covering for Eli and the Giants after they suck.
I'm actually interested in NYC FC, though I wish they'd have called it Real New York. I had no interest in the New York Red Bulls because I can't stand that name. So, maybe I'll follow NYC FC.
No doubt, at least Francesa isnt a puppet, Kay has a producer talking into his headphones every second telling him what to talk about next.
soccer names are ridiculous and we don't call it football here so to call it the NYC football club is embarrassing.
Esq., get Real ; ) 'Real' as you probably know means 'royal' but moveover it has a deeper significance than just royal, however. Since Spain, historically, has been ruled by monarchs (and the monarchy still exists today, in much the same way as in Britain, merely figureheads as opposed to actual political leaders) the royal names were given to teams that had received a charter from the King of Spain. If you look at the teams across Spain, there are many who have received this designation, not just Real Madrid. Real Mallorca, Real Zaragoza, Real Club Deportivo La Coruña, Real Nice Tits, etc. He's bat guano smothered with lumpy gravy.
