He did bring a swagger to the team, but eventually the SB hype was really a finely polished turd. Also, this is the HC who kept Sanchez as the starter just like he is doing with Geno. The loyalty aspect of his coaching style will be the main reason he will be fired. He let his personal relationships with his players override what was best for the team. He stood behind the "Buttfumbler", and he didn't give Tebow a chance because of his "pride". Rex had his chance to be a HC, and he fucking blew it. 2 years too late on his being fired. The end of the 2012 season should have been the end of it.
I don't buy any of that crap. Not a bit of it. His mediocre to poor choices in FA, draft and trades does not inspire the least bit of confidence that he will spend cap space effectively. His too loyal supporters act like where he is right now is all according to plan. But the fact is he tried and failed at developing a better roster this year. His drafting has been very weak. There's no reason to think he can take cap space and get real value for it. None.
When you start with the Tebow chances - then you are off the reservation. Tebow is an analyst and couldn't get a sniff as a b/u in the NFL. Denying Rex is a good coach is frustration on the wins & losses. This team has been devoid of talent for three years. 8-8 was a miracle last year. And we still have no franchise QB. Who was the option besides Sanchez - Tebow? really? Phill Simms the 2nd? If Simms was so good, why is he on the PS again instead of getting a shot at starter? Why hasn't any other team picked him up yet? I hear the same from Douchebag Giants fan I sit next to at work - so asked him why the vaGiants haven't picked up simms yet? *crickets* Stop Stop Stop. The Jets have not gotten lucky on a QB pick in forever. If Geno sucks then he sucks but it was just a mid 2nd round pick. We didn't reach for Geno like we did for Nacho. Whatever you think of Rex as a loud mouth baffoon or whatever, he got handed lemons and made fruit punch out of it. That was evident last year. And outside of Decker and Amaro - injuries and a rookie - the talent on Offense hasn't really been upgraded since last year. Its evident CJ2k won't even be CJ1K this year. So what do you want to do - start over again with a new coach? Again? After Idzik's guy comes in and fails for a couple years, maybe we can Bring back Herm or recycle a couple of other shitty coaches...or hire another new rookie HC. Just what i want from my team - keep making changes for the sake of change so we can reboot every 3~5 years. Maybe a new GM in a year or two also so the philosophies of the whole organization can change and we can continue to be a punchline in the NFL. Disgustingly impatient fanbase. And yes, I've been through the mill with this team too - ok not since 1970 but the mid 80's is enough of a drought since I was born 4 years after the 1st SB win... /venting
I don't know if his job is on the line or not, I'd guess probably yes. At 1-3, we were playing decent against some very talented teams, I could have overlooked those losses, as we fought hard until the end. Last week was atrocious, we never crossed mid-field until the 4th quarter. These are the games that will get Rex fired. Everyone expected us to give up passing yards, but 168 rushing yards against Rex's (try to run on us) defense? That's not a great effort from the team or coaches.
Dude seriously? I think this fanbase has been pretty patient with Rex at the very least. He's had a 4 year playoff drought, not to mention his defense basically quit on him last week. Rex has not corrected many of the things that he should have corrected years ago. The time management and organization for one, and not to mention 3rd down overload blitzes and the wildcats that the entire league has figured out already. What pisses me off the most about him is that his overall vision for the team is wrong. This is an offensive, passing league. Yes, defense still matters, but the strategy of ground and pound and play good defense doesn't jive in today's NFL. While Rex isn't the GM, he has a lot of input in building his team and the organization as a whole didn't feel it was necessary to build a proper offense. Just because you dont "luck out" on QB, doesn't give the excuse for a terrible offense. You can build elsewhere and sign a free agent game manager QB. That's essentially all they need with a good defense. Yet, Geno and his predecessor Sanchez had a knack for leading the league in turnovers. Go figure.
One of da playiz put his fingah in da guys rectum. Den he put his fingah in da guys mouth. No yoomen being should be violated dat way, okay. Roe does dat stuff to me but it's consensual, heah its sexual assawlt!
So did Brittany Spears, do you honestly think she has even a spec of real talent? Welcome to Babylon.
Yeah but blasting Rex for talking about a chess match is a little to much, other than that its been right. Should have kept Tanny and Rex or outed em both.
I liked the one prank call that he got when the guy asked him "Hey Mike, who has lower expectations every night, the NY islanders fans, or your wife?"
I hope someone calls in and tries to talk Islanders hockey with him. If there is one thing that he hates more than the Jets being good, its a caller who wants to talk Islanders hockey.
I might call him, I have some app on my tablet so ill just leave it sitting their until its time. Ill try to place a long order of chinese food......
