What does it mean? What doesn't it mean.He has a coach he is trying to have fired ,he left him with no talent and 21 mill in cap space. If we succeed under Rex Idzik won't get any credit for it and he knows that.If we succeed under his coach he gets all the credit. He only cares about what's good for him
Only if you had a Tailgate, I could rock my Namath jersey in the tub, and had Jets flight crew members all around.
as long as we win I don't care but these jobs are precious and they can be taken away at any moment, I have a hard time believing he is sabotaging Rex b/c he wants credit.
I don't know man I don't like Idziks intentions why leave the team so ridden of talent with enough cap space to fix it.We still would have had plenty of cap space next season even if we spent all of this years cap.We have over 20 free agents next year most of who are not returning with the exception of 3 or 4
Dude, I have an amazing tailgate. It's like a charity thing. We act like we are collecting money for some dude we barely knew, parade his family around, it's a hoot. Got any money? And would you agree to sign up at our weak ass website?
I may be naïve here but I think he has good intentions. he didn't want to overpay anyone which I like, if one of the corners would have taken a short term deal they'd be here but let NYG overpay Rodgers-Cro. he wasn't worth what they paid him.
I get the plan that Idzik has, but there are two rebuttals that I have so far. 1. Just because the plan worked for other teams does not mean it will work for the Jets, especially if they cant find a franchise QB 2. This requires John Idzik to be a masterful evaluator of talent in order to build a strong core through the draft. Which I have two problems with. Many of his draft picks have already been cut and the same scouting department has been here for 10 years. Is the offense a scouting problem or a coaching problem or both?
Rex knows he will be fired if he doesn't succeed this year,If this was really a rebuilding team then Rexs job would be safe and its not.He said it himself yesterday.Idziks doinhg everything he can to undermine his head coach
I am not so sure about that. I still believe Rex will be back unless last week becomes the norm the rest of the way.
Sounds like a great plan!!! Can the money raised go toward finding a new "Fireman Ed" cause the JETS Chant! needs an uplift at MetLife. This new fan every game isn't cutting it.
That is just a ridiculous, meritless diatribe. The team was on the decline and in cap hell when Idzik took over. If he fixed the cap and brought in new players that helped Rex turn it around why the hell would he not get credit for that just because Rex was the coach? Did you even think about how asinine that position sounds before typing it? And if he was only interested in himself (another dumb ass statement considering the perception of his success is dependent on how well the team performs), how the hell does it benefit him to field such a talent deficient team and have the media and fans calling for his firing? All you did was vomit every ridiculous cliche you could think of none of which have any basis in fact, reality or hold up to any logical scrutiny.
This is a building year -- from an 8-8 season, not a rebuilding year from scratch. This team has holes but isn't absent of talent. With the holes 7-9 is likely enough to save his job. But we are 1-4, and if we only win 3 or 4 games that isn't what is even close to what was or should have been expected even in this year.
No teams are ready from the first week of the season. Why do you think the league is so volatile, all defenses are communicating poorly, more turnovers on offense in week 5 than week 1. Ever since the new CBA the practice restrictions are so severe, teams don't form their identities for weeks. The first four games are like the new preseason.
He has been extremely competent if his goal was to create cap flexibility for next year. That doesn't help us enjoy this season but that has tremendous long term value . But if his strategy is to really improve the talent starting next year his performance will certainly be on a quick clock.
Really? No team is ready week one? That is such a nonsensical statement. Teams obviously improve week over week as the season progresses but that in no way, shape or form equates to them not being ready week one.
