Austin Howard - 3-4 year deal at 10-12 MIL in total should get it done Jeff Cumberland - Take him back on the cheap. Not a long term starter. A TE will be drafted. Willie Colon - If he wants to stick around for 1 year at 1MIL I'm good with it. Look to upgrade him. Calvin Pace - Another year. Give him a bit of a raise to keep him away from any potential suitors looking for some cheap depth. If him and Barnes can alternate at that spot with a new pass rusher on the other side that would be the best scenario. David Garrard - Cut ties. Ed Reed - He can still be useful but I'm torn on bringing him back. Rex can't help himself and will overuse him. Not sure. Kellen Winslow - Cut ties. He never practices so it's hard to gain chemistry with Geno who needs reps with his targets. Josh Cribbs - Can't hurt to bring him to camp, no guaranteed money or roster spot. Let him compete. Nick Folk - Give him some money and term. He's earned it. Vladimir Ducasse - Same as Cribbs. Josh Mauga - Cut ties. A special teams guy only. We need better depth at LB. Lex Hilliard - Cut ties. Bohannon would be cheaper and is a better fit in MM's offense as a FB coming out of the backfield. Leger Douzable - Give him two years and 3-4 MIL bucks. Solid veteran backup who produces when he gets reps. Darius Reynaud - No reason to bring him back. Jermaine Cunningham - Not sure what the Jets have here. They need help at this position so it can't hurt to bring him to camp. Ellis Lankster - Same as Mauga. Aaron Berry - Would like to see what he has. Can be an excellent addition if healthy. No one will bang his door down due to the injury and his troubled past. Bring him to camp and he will probably earn a spot. One year vet minimum if healthy.
I hear Reed's mentoring has a lot to do with how Milliner's play picked up the last couple of games--apparently they're pretty tight. I'd like to see how his influence could help guys like Allen and Bush, even if they're splitting time at the position. I think Vlad should be given a shot at RG, ideally with Colon backing him up. He's a much better fit there than at LG--and he and Howard are just huge powerful dudes. I'd like to see how our offense could open up if we had a dominant power running game on that right side. I've been slow to approve of Folk, but I think he's earned a deal.
