One name I tweeted out about two hours ago: Miles Austin. The Cowboys are expected to cut him, probably tomorrow, and I've been hearing for several days the Jets will be interested. He's a Jersey guy. Went to Garfield HS (Wayne Chrebet's alma mater) and attended Monmouth.

If he can stay healthy he's a solid player, I just hope they wouldn't overpay for him.

I can't see an oft injured guy like that commanding big dollars. I can see a nice incentive laden deal for him. Could be a nice pickup at a low price where if he's hurt it doesn't hurt us but if healthy he could be huge for us.

I like the sound of Verner, but don't know enough about him. So he had a very good year in his contract year. Does that mean he's guaranteed to play equally well this year?

Teams take that sort of gamble, but it is a gamble.

I think this could be a low risk, high reward signing if we get him cheap

The Jets really like Michael Vick, I'm told. Wouldn't be shocked if something happens in the next 24 hours.

say goodbye to Mark and possibly Geno

He'd be worth look into. He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and it's been forever sense we have had that.

I wonder if we still are targeting Byrd and may sign a corner with him like Munnerlyn or Thurmond. Thurmond is tricky though because of his suspenion. Or maybe Rodgers-Cromartie

geno wouldn't be gone with this ... It would just be a competition in training camp that Vick would probly win lol

    Mark is definitely gone.
Geno not going anywhere, especially for an all too injured older QB. I want some vet insurance at QB, but Vick is not the answer imo..

To put all of one's eggs in the Michael Vick basket would be a terrible call on more than one level. And I don't have any major problems with Vick.

Revisionist history. 2 years ago, Cortland Finnegan was the lock-down CB for Tennessee, and Verner was an afterthought JAG. Decent play, but nothing all-star, big contract level. Then he had 1 excellent year and now he's a surefire $12 million a year guy? I don't think so.

It's called "getting better".. Look for Milliner to do it in Year's 2 and 3.
