Jets source joked Rex Ryan would have a conniption if #NYJ doesn't replace Cromartie with a top-flight FA cornerback. (see: Davis, Verner).

I fully expect one of those two to be Jets today.

#Bucs are receiving interest in a Revis trade from teams with cap space. One team to watch: #Browns. Same system as Revis had with #Jets

I think Cle is going to be good and could be a team we are fighting for a WC with but better them than NE.

Why would they get Revis though and still have Joe Hayden. Can't see them paying 20M between the two of them.. Hayden is going to want to get paid soon.

This is what I'm thinking. Everyone is worrying about New England but they have no cap room whatsoever.

If Idzik is being aggressive, that doesn't mean he's being reckless or foolhardy. He can be aggressive in talking to players and their agents and letting them know that the Jets want them, but still be conservative in his approach, having a value in mind for players and not being willing to go beyond that, and going for players who will be solid fits, who have good character and work ethic, and not just going after big names or signing big deals just to get ink like Tanny. I'm sure that he will go after some younger, starting caliber FAs and be willing to pay them well. I don't think he'll go after a bunch of older, "hold-the-fort" FAs and pay them a ton of money in an effort to "win now."

Browns D taking shape. Buzz inside HQ is things are getting close w/ S Donte Whitner and former Buff LB Arthur Moats.

Byrd might not go to CLE... Jets?

That would easily be the best CB tandem in the league though. The Browns have a lot of cap room if I'm not mistaken and Mike Pettine is going to want to establish himself as a big time coach, especially defensively. Maybe they go for it.

I hope not.. They would be a serious problem.. I really think they are going to take over the AFC North in the next few years Revis or no Revis.

The types who won't be turning 30 years old in the next 2 seasons, yet who still command mega bucks now. Especially when there is cheaper, younger, quality talent at the position currently available.

Asamoah was the starter and then Schwartz took his job. As far as I know, Schwartz was starting over Asamoah.

Because he isn't any more and he's the past. Then there's the issue of his being such an ass.

so even if they want a lot of money and they are younger and less talented we should want them?

Yeah i read correctly. Schwartz beat out Asamoah:

"Starting guard Geoff Schwartz and (end-of-season) back-up Jon Asamoah are both free agents."
