get it done.... this would be a nice way to inject some speed into our offense. I'm not normally that big into signing FA RB's, but i think this move could help, and the price should be reasonable.
Ahh, so thats who that was. I still think its a steal for Buffalo. Hes only 26 and has already shown he is capable of being a #1 receiver. 2013 was a hamstring injury...ehhh oh well.
To me, signing Chris Johnson would be a total Tanny move. He's just a name at this point and does not care about football or his own performance. He got the extension from Tennessee and shut it down. I would rather draft a guy or just keep Goodson than sign Johnson
Keep Goodson over CJ? No way. Goodson has done nothing for us except get hurt and get in trouble off the field. CJ would be a huge upgrade. The issue is at what price. He likely wants multiple years at a big cap #. I'm OK with a short term (1 or 2 years) deal, since we have the cap room right now, but I do not want the team to commit to him any more than that.
I think the only one of those signings that precludes one of those teams picking WR in round 1 is Golden Tate in Detroit.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 3m Ravens got Owen Daniels at a bargain price - $1M base salary with another $1M available in incentives. No guarantees Bargain bin signing
Buffalo - Stevie Johnson, Mike Williams, & Robert woods . They can draft another WR if they want lol they got plenty other holes to fill. Baltimore could swoop in Evans still i agree there.
I'll retract the statement about rather having Goodson as I did notice CJ still has gained 2200 yards and scored 12 tds one ground over the last two years, with 4 receiving tds last year. It just seems like he's capable of so much more after that 2000 yard season. I guess I just don't want us to throw money at him and not see a return on it. Will Ivory be cool with being second fiddle to CJ? I doubt CJ wants to share the backfield
CJ is a weapon. The offense needs more weapons. We should be players at this table. I think him playing injured last year had alot to do with his dropoff. Let him get healthy, build the line and make him a heavy rotational back and see what he can do. He still had better stats last year (3.9 ypc) than Shonn Greene who went from 3.9 ypc in his last year with the Jets to 3.8 on the Titans.
When you can run as fast as CJ and you're in your prime, things just have to fall right for you to get to 2,000. Schedule, QB play, offensive line, all of these are major factors. CJ runs so fast that 1 missed tackle can be the difference between 3 yards and 80 yards (see vs Jets 2012). After that monstrous year teams learned how to take better angles on him and they accounted for him through scheming and game planning. He can still knock out an 80 harder at any time, but can't carry a team. That's why he was never worth that extension he got.
The Bills just gave Stevie his $1.7 million roster bonus a couple of weeks ago. If they release him, that would create over $10 million in dead money. His cap hit is less than that. No way they'll release him. If anything, they'd trade him, but I seriously doubt that too.
35 years old and recovering from an achilles tear, would only be worth it at vet minimum but even then not too sure.
Jeez we couldn't offer him that?I mean who's our starting TE gonna be?I'm praying we draft one in the first two rounds.Ebrons a reach at this point because his draft stock will continie to rise.Maybe Sefarian Jenkins in round 2?we may need to trade up to do that to
