    I don't agree with you.

Geno was a rookie. Go look at Vick's rookie year. Geno should only go up as he gains experience. Vick is only going to go downwards as he gets older. You can't really say either way for sure.

Geno was the better QB the last month of the season last year. That was a fact.

well yeah seeing as how Vick was on the bench...

He was a good sport about the whole thing too, thats one of the bigger reasons I'm okay with him here, he's not the guy he once was personality wise.

Vick's last 5 years were better than his first 7 statistically. He learned to be more of a pocket passer and only run when need be.

Give me a fuckin break with this circus bullshit. It is obvious the circus is gone. Vick was NEVER a distraction in Philly. Now he will be one coming here?

Vick will either be an upgrade at QB or will be a solid veteran leader for Geno's growth. Every player on that Eagles team loved him there and said he was a GREAT person to help mentor a young QB. It's sad when posters on here are bitching about a circus when even guys like Cimini and Mehta are saying this is a good move and could be great for a maturing Geno Smith. I never thought someone could sound worse than the likes of Mehta and Cimini.

Gang Green forum at its best again

Vick also stepped up to the plate and showed veteran, 'team' leadership in helping to quell the firestorm after Riley shot his mouth off.

Cimini and Mehta would both love to cover a QB controversy on the Jets next season, so their opinions are somewhat biased.

Joseph has been a good skills CB. Cro has been a good tools CB.

Skills tend to decline less fast than tools as you go past 30. You don't lose your technique but you do lose a step.

Listen to them talk about it. I have been listening to different analysts talk about this all day. Both Jets analysts and NFL analysts. Almost every one believes that this would be an excellent move on all fronts. I'm not talking sarcastic shit like Mehta does normally. It's a win win. He either wins the job and wins us games or he mentors Geno and helps him grow.

The only mention of circus I have heard is by members here. No one else is claiming that

Fans and protestors would turn the acquisition into a circus but from a player standpoint it's a perfect match. He is the guy we need to compete with Geno, he knows the terminology and we'll have some better players so this could be a real offense.

I'm getting over the dog thing, and would accept him on the Jets for a competition with Geno.

When we were talking to Tebow, everyone and their mother was claiming circus and distraction. It was obvious it was going to happen and every one saw it.

I have yet to see someone mention a distraction or circus with Vick not from this forum. Why mention it with Tebow but not Vick.

bring no. 7 here. I'm all for signing Vick. I bet he wins the starting job. Geno was mostly terrible last year, riding the bench could be the best thing for him.

He won't be anywhere near the distraction Tebow was.

I'd be fine with it for a stopgap veteran backup signing. Vick would be very solid in that role if Geno struggles out the gate. However I don't want Vick's presence hampering Geno's development. We need to see if Geno is the future this year, not wait another year while Vick comes in as a short term answer. As a backup to start the season Vick would be fine.
