He shouldn't be going threw growing pains period if he is an NFl Gm ,there's no time for that ,he's running a franchise if he wasn't a good candidate we shouldn't of signed him but all other candidates wanted there own coach so
And you people complain about the corner back issue, Seattle does have a track record of drafting corners late: Walter Thurmond: Round 4 Richard Sherman: Round 5 Brandon Browner: Took him from the CFL Byron Maxwell: Round 6 Perhaps the genius who discovered all these guys was brought over with Idzik. (and yeah I know we drafted Milliner in the 1st round, cry a river).
There are rumors that Carroll was able to find this talent because of his college scouting reports when he was at USC. Now that most of those if not all of the players he scouted are past college, its going to be interesting to see who he drafts this season and if they pan out.
Heh, reread this thread, some people want to spend every penny. Which would be the same ones that would cry if Wilk walked away cause their isn't any money to lock him up long term. Free agency is far from over, so I'm going to refrain from being disappointed in the "talent" they choose to bring in at this juncture. Holes are going to get plugged one way or another. There aren't any Reggie White types floating out in FA (aside from Revis, and that ship has sailed).
It's reassuring Idzik was a part of the Bucs super bowl victory and Arizona's ascension to a super bowl contender.
True, its really amazing though, the scouting team in Seattle is unreal when it comes to the corner back position.
Giants signed back Manningham. Another one bites the dust. I dunno Idzik totally low balled DRC with a 6 million dollar contract based on incentives for a year. Like really? Obviously he never wanted to sign the guy or doesn't understand the market.
If the scouting was so good though, these guys wouldn't have ended up late round picks. Part of it is luck and part of it is scouting and being able to coach these guys up and make them successful within the scheme
I don't think he is going through growing pains or lowballing players with money. I do beleive he has been unwilling to give the long term security some players were looking for. If there is going to be competition at every position you can't be committed long term to players you haven't seen play for your team. I don't foresee alot of big time players coming here for that last big comfortable contract. Those will go to players who earned it as jets. Thats why pace got double what he earned last year,a reward to him and message to the team. We will take care of our own first
Right, I'm a rosy pom pomp waving homer because I'm not predicting a down year after just one week of free agency. Grow up.
I don't care what that report says, unless someone blows him away w/ an offer(which I don't expect) I think Cro will be back.
Yeah that is true to. I think Wilson for example was luck, if they had known he was going to be this good they would have never let him go through 2 full round. With these corners, I think they had good information but believed they would drop, so they addressed the other needs. I believe certain positions you can risk letting them drop, but for a QB, if you think you have found a great one, you take him as soon as possible.
