Cimini was said the other day he expected the Jets to offer $7 mill a year while he thought DRC might want in excess of the $9 mill a year he turned down. But it appeared to be all speculation on his part. But yes it has been tweeted that the Jets are still interested in DRC. The questions are: Is anyone else interested? And, how much has his market price fallen?

Keeping money for a late cut scenario toward the end of free agency is prudent if there is something worth going after. We still need a vet QB as Sanchez will be a late cut on the 25th. Unless Idzik eats the 2 million roster bonus he gets cut, and from what the Jets have been doing I don't see even 2 million going that way. Sign the beard from "Harvard" and move on to the next player.

There are going to be bargains out there in a month or two. There are bargains every year after the dust has settled. Pissed off players that think they got jobbed by the market and are taking the best one year deal they can find to prove it to everybody. I'm guessing the Jets get a couple of those guys.

OK, thanks for the info. I haven't been following the situation closely today. I hope his asking price has fallen enough that Idzik will sign him now (and that he can convince him to come here)

Woolfork is mad because they asked him to take a pay cut and then signed an ex-Jets to a 12 mil contract. To his way of thinking it smacked of disloyalty. But like a fellow poster said, it's the Patriots way. Getting rid of guys when their usefullness is starting to diminish rather than pay them. Woolfork is one of the all time greatest Patriots and the mainstay of their defense for years. I don't think BB is willing to cut him even though he's coming off of a season ending injury. Believe me we can find a place for him to play on the Jets. NP. He starts. And if he's really pissed and wants to stick it to them sign with us. Idzik will pay you.

Idzik will not pay him just to "stick it to the pats". He has no place on the DLine with Harrison and Ellis. Harrison is better and younger, WILFORK wouldn't even start. No way Idzik bothers looking at him when he gets cut. Highly doubt the Pats will pay him what he wants. I think they'll look to trade him on draft ay.

I know that Idzik wouldn't pay Woolfork just to stick it to Belichick. But Snacks over Vince. Come on bro, no way. This guy's an HOFer and can still play. Esp for Rex and if he has a big chip on his shoulder. Would love to see him here. What did Vince make last year. About 7. It's done.

Our dline is deep enough, getting Wilfork would be a waste. Idzik isn't going to waste money on petty revenge. I'd much rather see that money go toward more WRs / TEs or the oline.

They would never trade him to the Jets unless the guy has AIDs or something even worse. But if cut you might be able to get him for under five. And it's worth it unless his injury is still a factor.

are you seriously advocating paying a 32 (going to be 33 during the season) y.o. d.t. coming off an achilles injury 7 mil a year when there is no place to play him and we are already getting great play on the dline for less than that total? seriouly?

Yes. I am. There are certain guys you don't pass on. Like Revis. And Wolfork. End of story. Even when Revis was coming off of a serious injury a team was willing to pay him 16 mil. If Vince is healthy I'd give him a contract. And get rid of Snacks. Maybe we could get a Db for him.

Because that worked out great for said team.

Wow this is one of the most uninformed thing I've read on this forum in a while. The Jets should definitely get rid of a NT who played at a very high level in his second year for a 32 year old one coming of an achilles injury and on top of that, pay him over 5 times as much money! You've gotta just be trolling now.

Gotta love the mid March football-less blues, where the conversation somehow shifts onto making a major signing at the ONLY position we're solid at while we still have glaring needs at so many other positions.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is still in NY/NJ until tomorrow, and at this point, #Jets & #Giants are in play. The #Browns are lurking, tho

Patriots fans would feel about as shitty as we do about Revis going to NEP if Vince came over to us. Harrison is ok but not great and Vince is probably the best NT in NFL history. You can't conpare Snacks to Vince. They obviously aren't going to sign him if he can't play after the injury. It's not going to happen because if Vince is healthy BB (like with Edelmen) won't let him go. If he's slowed down and can't play at that level (and 7.5 isn't that much for a great run stopper) then they will cut him. And somebody very smart will pay him and sign him.

If DRC played for the #Jets, they could utilize him man-to-man. Would be fun to watch. With #Giants, they had a sophisticated plan on usage
