This is why everyone needs to step back off the ledge. Let this stuff play out before you bash the GM. Free agency isn't even a week old.

Let's get DRC and if not I'll settle for a small deal for Cromartie. His hip scares me though

We need to sign a Cromartie. Both wouldn't be a bad idea if its economic.

Anything is possible I guess, but that is not how the article is written. It seems unlikely that an agreement would be reached on Thursday and the Chiefs not getting the contract rolling for two days.

Agent Steve Weinberg, on behalf of the wide receiver, accepted a deal with the Chiefs in principle, according to one team source. Weinberg then engaged in negotiations with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to another source involved in the process.
    While shopping the
Chiefs' offer to the Bucs, Weinberg never explained that he had already accepted the terms of Kansas City's offer. Later in the night, Sanders' agent had agreed to terms with the Broncos, which is where he is currently headed.

I think Idzik is saving some cash for when the free agency market finally dries up; that's when the Pats will cut Wilfork. That's been the "Patriot" way for a long time so I see Vince on our team in a month or so. I see the wisdom in hanging onto some Cap space for just this type of contingency.

Not exactly a position of need for the Jets is it?

With Snacks, Ellis, and Douzable re signed I highly doubt an old Wilfork is on our radar

Apparently, he only wants to join a team with proven Snoopy Bowl success.

Just take Antonio back at this point, I think he can rebound from last season, hes been a good Jet and fits what Rex wants to do.

Not for nothing to, but the safety play from 2012 to 2013 was no where as good and I blame that partially as to why Antonio regressed last season, he had to put more of a load on himself, having Landry and Bell was a huge benefit.

I disagree here. I actually think the safety play was better from a coverage standpoint. Landry and Bell were primarily box defenders and I preferred Dawan to Laron despite Larons' sham of a pro bowl bid. Cromartie was hurt last here and it was very clear simply watching him run. He had a very hard time changing direction. I think he would have really benefited from a few games off as his injury seemed to get worse as the year progressed. I would want him back as well but I could see the Jets waiting until after the draft to take a look at him. I think they're looking to get Rodgers-Cromartie at about $5-6M a year and if not they'll wait.

If he were under 30 and commanding something like 2M a year sure. There's no reason to take reps away from Harrison and Ellis when those guys are younger and Harrison is playing at the same level. If Wilfork gets cut I think the Broncos and the Bears are gonna be the ones most interested.

Definitely not a position of need but if Wilfork can still play the Jets will take him at the right price. The way to beat Tom Brady is with interior pressure because he's not mobile enough to escape outside at this point. Taking away the running game really damages him as well. The Pats were 3-4 last year when they rushed for less than 100 yards and 10-1 when they got to 100 yards on the day.

Hey Vince is a good player, but who do the Jets take off the field? He also comes with the risk his size won't let him be what he was before. Achilles is a tough one to come back from for well conditioned athletes.

It'll be interesting. Not a lot of natural fits for him around the league. I think if he follows through and the Pats release him, he'll get payed less than the Pats redo deal IMO.

The Jets would put him in a rotation with Snacks most likely. Have hard interior pressure and a great run stopper on the field every down and wear the opposing center and guards down.

Any chance DRC comes back to the Jets, now that he didn't sign with the Giants?
