That statement hits the nail right on the head. He (2012 round 2), along with Ducasse (2010 round 2), were drafted way too high as projects. Drafting the occasional project is okay. Drafting two, so close to each other, and even worse, so high, is a big mistake. I think fans are tougher on Hill due to how high he was drafted.
Look man I understand what you're saying 100% why take a position that is not as much a need as opposed to a major need. If we were to have a core of 5 guys such as Decker, Jones, Kerley, Evans, and Nelson they would rotate. The more that Evans gets accustomed to the offense the more snaps he would get. What happens if one of them has an injury in training camp, the other moves up the chart. If we do sign another FA WR, and Ebron,Mack,any other guy thats in a position of need that is just as good of value as WR we should absolutely take the latter over another WR

plus from all indications..we are trying to be a power run team… it makes no sense to invest in two free agent receivers and use our 1st pick on a wr.. witch IMO… i would rather just wait for the draft instead of signing a stop gap player like jones
Not really. We need to improve the skill positions, signing a FA receiver and drafting one in the 1st round is not out of the possibility.
The problem with signing another medicore #3 WR like Jones or Sanders is not just the money wasted or the high bust potential but the opportunity cost lost. If we draft 2 WRs in the first 3 rounds whether its Beckham or Cooks in round 1 or Landry in round 3 is they have a much higher ceiling than Sanders, Decker or Jones. They have the potential to be true number one WRs. Yes they have similar bust potential to signing a FA WR and they will take a few years to develop but they have the potential to be so much better and be our number one. I would much rather take a chance on 2 drafted WRs in this deep draft class with the hope we strike gold with one than sign 2 mediocre WRs as FA. Sign one more WR FA and its very unlikely we draft 2 WRs. Signing mediocre FA WRs might help us in the short run but stockpiling very good drafted WRs gives us a much better chance of being good in the long run.
I do like Kerley. Who says we can't have a WR core of Decker, James Jones or Sanders, Kerley, draft pick as the #4, Nelson as the #5, and Hill the #6? Kerley would be the slot receiver. Also, Kerley has taken advantage of the fact that we've had crap surrounding him, so he's taken advantage of it.
WR is one of the more difficult positions to come out and really light it up as a rookie. I'd like another vet in here so that we can take some of the pressure off any WR we'd take in the draft
because no team is using a 1st round pick on a #4 wr..and again the 4-6 wrs need to play special teams and rarely even play in the offense..your talking very min snaps..

The wording is unclear, does that mean he left already? If 'meeting' is a noun then it doesn't necessarily mean so.
You're still not getting it. If Evans or, somehow, Watkins falls to us then maybe they start out as the #4 on our depth chart but who's to say they stay there for long? It's quite possible that either one of those guys shoots up our depth chart within a year. Idzik will draft BPA, whether that be WR, TE, whatever. I would have no problem with him drafting a WR in rd 1, even if we so get Jones.
Then we might draft someone in the 3rd-4th round, but if they like a WR heavily in the 1st round, then they'll draft them. The more skill players we have, the merrier.
